The Hidden Name & Character of ha’Shem

There is a common argument that I often hear within the community of believers in Messiah regarding our Creators name. The rationale suggests that the pronunciation and spelling of his name are not important, only that we know of his character.

This kind of rationale sounds very “Ecumenical,” and “all-inclusive,” which leads to the idea that “Any name will do.It becomes a slippery slope when we begin to rationalize that the names of other pagan deities within the Greco-Roman Pantheon are adequate substitutes for the name of our Creator. An example would be such vain empty titles like “Lord, God, and Baal.”

Because there is much divisiveness surrounding the correct spelling and pronunciation of our Creators name, it appeals to our desire for unity, to accept a wide variety of spellings and pronunciations.

In this study, I aim to bring balance to the argument of character versus pronunciation.

Is it only about the “character,” rather than the actual letters to our Creator’s name? Or is it both? Why are letters called “characters,” if pronunciation and spelling doesn’t matter?

Why did King David write a song about all 22 Letters in the Hebrew Alphabet in Psalm 119, if the letters don’t matter? If our Creator “Spoke the word and the worlds were framed” (Hebrews 11:3), he had to start out with letters, before he could form words.

How did YaHuWaH create everything in the Universe with vibrations (frequencies)? Does it not stand to reason that each of the 22 Hebrew letters that he created carry a different sound and meaning? Does it not stand to reason that all 22 Pictograph Letters to the Hebrew Aleph-Beyt describe something about his character?

When our Messiah declared in John 5:43 “I am come in my Father’s name, did he mean his Father’s actual and literal name? Or did he mean that he had come in his Father’s character and authority only?

To those who would argue that he only meant that he had come in his Father’s character, this line of reasoning is flawed, and is easily refuted when we look up the Hebrew word for “name” which is “shem.” This word is defined as follows in the Hebrew Strong’s
Concordance:

#8034 shem pronounced “shame;” through the idea of definite and conspicuous position; an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honorauthority, character:--infamous, named, renown, report.

The Blue Letter Bible defines the word “shem” as follows:

Reputation, fame, glory, name, the Name (as designation of God), memorial, monument.

You will notice that the above definitions are not limited to just his authority and character. The word for name or “shem” in Hebrew actually means a “mark,” which is a physical scratch, etching, handwriting, engraving etc. This means the physical letters to his name! This Hebrew word “shem” (name) also means “a monument” or “a memorial of individuality.”

What is a monument? The dictionary defines a monument as “something erected in memory of a person, event, etc., as a building, pillar or statue.”

In other words, a name is more than just a thought or an idea, but it is primarily something physical or tangible that we can see. Therefore, our Creator's name is not merely his character or his authority,  because this is an abstract Greek concept. In Hebrew thought, meanings to words are accompanied by Pictograph letters, having visible, tangible pictures. Conversely, in Greek, words are inanimate concepts that do not always have a physical or visible substance associated with them. Hence, a name is much more than a concept. It is a memorial by which we can “remember” the person of whom we are speaking!

A name is a like a “picture identification,” as unique as finger prints. In today’s world of high security, we are constantly being asked to present some form of identification in order to cash a check. The picture on our drivers license, should match the person who is signing the check. If you sign the back of your check with one letter differently than the name that is on your checking account, the banker will not cash your check! If accuracy to the spelling of ones name is necessary in the world that we live in, how much more in eternity?

Did you ever win a trophy for a sporting event or competition that you excelled in? What if you were given a trophy, a badge, or a medal of honor as a memorial of something that you accomplished, but your name was not on it?

Or worse, yet, what if your name was misspelled so drastically, that it did not even resemble your real name? You would be outraged if somebody changed your name to resemble the name of your competitor!

How would we know that the trophy (the tangible object) belonged to you if your name was not on it, or if your competitors name was on it instead? How would we identify the trophy with you as a person? And how would you feel if somebody tried to tell you that “The name on the trophy did not really matter?”

This is how our Messiah feels when the scribes purposely changed his name in the scriptures so drastically that it no longer resembled his true name. And not only that, but they replaced the proper name of YaHuWaH nearly 7,000 times in the TaNaKh with a generic title “LORD.”

The corrupt scribes who removed and altered his name will ultimately have their names removed out of the book of life according to the warning of our Messiah in Revelation 22:18-19. Now that you are informed of this, why would you continue in their error by using these erroneous translations of his name?

Years ago, the Heavenly Father taught me a very important concept about how to interpret Scripture. He showed me that when people “over-spiritualize” Scripture, and they never interpret it literally, that can lead to something called “Gnosticism.”

There are four layers of understanding Scripture in Hebrew thought. They are called:

PaRrDeS:

Peshat (פְּשָׁט “plain” (simple) or the direct meaning.
Remez (רֶמֶז “hints” or the deep (allegoric: hidden or symbolic) meaning beyond just the literal sense.
Derash (דְּרַשׁ from Hebrew darash“inquire” (seek) — the comparative (midrashic) meaning, as given through similar occurrences.
Sod (סוֹד) (pronounced with a long o as in ‘bone’)  “secret” (mystery) or the mystical meaning, as given through inspiration or revelation.

In Deuteronomy 6:5 we are commanded to love YaHuWaH with three aspects of our being (heart, soul, might). The word “heart” in Hebrew is “lebab” and it means “the mind.” The word “soul” is the Hebrew word “nephesh” which means “the emotions.” And finally the word “might” in Hebrew pertains to physical strength.

Yahuwshuwa repeated this commandment in Matthew 22:37, as he described three aspects of our being: heart, mind, soul.

But in Mark 12:30 & Luke 10:27, four aspects of our being are mentioned: heart, mind, soul & strength. This represents: intellect, spirit, emotions, & body. This could be why there are four layers of applying Scripture.

We should always begin with the literal application of Scripture (the P’shat). Secondarily, we can go deeper to the other levels as the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) opens up these deeper layers to us. We should never skip to the deepest, and mystical application, while ignoring the primary application of Scripture. When people do this, it is a form of Gnosticism.

Gnosticism only applies the metaphor or allegory application of Scripture, but it eliminates the rule of applying the literal meaning. This type of interpretation leads to people saying that the story of Noah’s Ark and Jonah & the Whale are allegories and they did not really happen. That is what this kind of interpretation leads to if we skip the literal (P’shat) and go straight for the deeper level of understanding (Sod). It leads to believing that Messiah Yahuwshuwa did not come in human flesh, but that he came as a Spirit only. Pagans are notorious for applying only the spiritual application but never the literal application of scripture. This idea is what is known as
Gnosticism.

Gnosticism is the basic belief that all things in creation that are made of molecules (matter), are evil and wicked. Hence, they conclude that there is an
evil side” to Elohiym and a good side to Elohiym. Gnosticism falsely teaches that the God of the Old Testament who created all things in this material world is evil. They also believe that the God of the New Testament is Lucifer who reincarnated himself as Jesus.

This is why Gnosticism is so dangerous, and why is it extremely important that we interpret the scriptures in a balanced way. People who say that we do not need to call upon the literal name of our Creator, but merely his
character are applying Gnosticism by ignoring the literal application of the commandment to “Call upon the name of YaHuWaH” in order to be saved.

If calling upon his character were enough, we could then rationalize that since one of his characteristics is “Love,” then we could just call upon “Love” and pray to “Love” instead of the actual name of YaHuWaH himself!

The commandment to call upon his name would then mean that one could say: “Love, I call upon you to please save me by your character which is Love.”

The commandment to “Call upon the name” of YaHuWaH is both literal as well as knowing his heart and character. Using just the phonetics of his name but not knowing his heart and character will not lead to salvation. And yet, knowing only his character and never calling upon his literal name does not lead to salvation either because even Satan can come as an “angel of light” (2nd Corinthians 11:14) and he can pretend to have all of the same characteristics as our Heavenly Father (love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness).

The Anti-Messiah will pretend to have those same characteristics but he will say that the name is not important. The man called “Maitreya Buddha” who has been appearing to people all over the world since 1984 is called the “Imam Mahdi” to Muslims.

To those who will take the Mark of the Beast, he will be known by many different names. He will be called “Maitreya Buddha” to the Buddhists. He will be called the “Christ” by Apostate Christians, and he will be called the “Mashiyach” by Apostate Jews. As you can see, Satan loves anonymity! He loves to work behind a mask and be very vague. That is one of his best strategies. He can come in many different names so that he can be relevant to every one!

To those who would say that we only need to call upon his character and not his literal name, I submit to you, that we are commanded to do both. We must call upon his name in Spirit (knowing his heart) and in Truth (knowing the truth about his name). Messiah has come in his Father’s literal name (John 5:43) as YaHuWaH means “I am he who exists” and the son’s name, Yahuwshuwa means “YaHuWaH is salvation.”

The name of the Father and the Son go hand-in-hand with their character, and you cannot separate the two. Every letter in the pictograph Hebrew Letters illustrate something about his character. That is why the letters are called “characters:”

Yod, Hey, Waw, Hey means: “Hand, Behold, Nail, Behold!”

Here is what these letters look like from right to left in Ancient Paleo Hebrew:

Yod = Y sound
Hey = ah sound
Waw = oo sound or long u sound
Hey = ah sound

Pronounced as: Y-ah-oo-ah

As I have illustrated thus far, it is not accurate to say that calling upon the name of our Creator is to only call upon his character and not upon his literal name. Each of the Hebrew Letters in his name describe something about his character. Both his literal name and his character are equally important. Even the Greek word for “character” means a literal mark or an engraving. This means the physical letters to his name:

#5480. charagma khar’-ag-mah from the same as 5482; a scratch or etching, i.e. stamp (as a badge of servitude), or sculptured figure (statue):--gravenmark.

All 22 letters in the Hebrew Alphabet are called “characters” for a good reason. It is because in the Ancient Paleo Hebrew Alphabet, every letter is a “pictograph,” and every letter literally paints a picture of our Messiah. Here are the letters that spell Joshua in Ancient Hebrew:

Yod = Y sound
Hey = ah sound
Waw = oo sound or long u sound
Shin = sh sound
Waw = oo sound or long u sound
Ayin = a sound as in again

Pronounced as: Y-ah-oo-sh-oo- ah

Yod, Hey, Waw, Shin, Waw, Ayin

In Zechariah 6, we read a Messianic prophecy about the man who is prophetically called “The Branch” elsewhere in prophecy (Isaiah 4:2, Jeremiah 3:15, John 15:4):

Zekaryahuw (Zechariah) 6:

11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Yahuwshuwa (Joshua) the son of Yahuwzedek (Josedech), the high priest;

12 And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaks YHWH of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of YHWH:

13 Even he shall build the temple of YHWH; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

The Strong’s Hebrew Concordance shows us these 6 letters to his name in bold letters. The other letters were added by the Masorites in the 10th  Century:

# 3091 Yhowshuwa` yeh-ho-shoo’-ah or Yhowshua {yeh-ho-shoo’-ah}; from 3068 and 3467; Jehovah-saved; Jehoshua (i.e. Joshua), the Jewish leader:--Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Compare 1954, 3442.

You will notice that the name of the Son contains the letters of the Father plus two added letters, the “shin” which means “tooth” and the “ayin” which means “the eye.”

Yod = (Yad) the hand
Hey = Breath, Revelation, Inspiration, Wind
Wav (Vav) = the nail
Shin = the tooth
Waw (Vav) = the nail
Ayin = the eye

As you can see, every letter in his literal name spells out his character.

Messiah’s Character Seen in the Spelling of his Name

The first letter in his name is as follows:

The Yod: the hand or the arm:

This term “the arm of YaHuWaH” or “the hand of YaHuWaH” is an idiom repeated over and over again in the scriptures. This phrase is a picture of strength and power, pointing to Yahuwshuwa the Messiah. It was the arm of YaHuWaH that conquered Pharaoh and his army. And the psalmist declared, “You scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm” (Psalm 89:10). The arm of YaHuWaH brings deliverance and victory. Whenever you read about the hand or arm of YaHuWaH in the Bible, this is prophetically referring to person of Yahuwshuwa. Our Heavenly Father has no image of his own for he is invisible. He can only be seen through the “image of the son” hence he has no “right arm” of his own, but his “right arm” is Messiah’s right arm.

Our Messiah is seated at “the right hand of power” or “the right hand of Elohiym” and this is a Hebrew idiom that denotes power and strength.

Marqos (Mark) 14:62 And Yahuwshuwa said, I am: and you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Luqas (Luke) 22:69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of Elohiym.

Ibriym (Hebrews) 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

1st Keefa (Peter) 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of Elohiym; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

Debariym (Deuteronomy) 26:8 And YHWH brought us forth out of Mitzrayim (Egypt) with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:

Tehilliym (Psalm) 136:12 With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endures forever.

Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 32:17 Ah YHWH Elohiym! behold, you have made the heaven and the earth by your great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for you:

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 20:34 And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

The second letter in his name is seen below:

The Hey: the Breath or Inspiration of YHWH:

This Hebrew Letter resembles a person lifting up his arms to praise Yah and it also resembles the Messiah’s arms being stretched out to save us as his hands were nailed to the tree.

Elohiym breathed into Adam “the breath of life” (Genesis 2:7) and we know that our Messiah is YaHuWaH who came as the “last Adam” in the likeness of sinful man (1st Corinthians 15:45). The Hebrew letter “Hey” means “behold” or to “look upon.”

The Strong’s Hebrew Concordance shows the meaning of this Hebrew Letter:

#1887 he’ hay a primitive particle; lo!:--behold, lo.

We can see that the Father’s image of the Son will be “looked upon” in Zechariah 12:10 when the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) will “behold the Lamb” who takes away the sin of the world!

The third and the fifth letter in his name is seen below:

The Waw (Vav) = the “nail” or “tent peg:”

Another letter in both YaHuWaH and Yahuwshuwa’s name is the waw (vav in Modern Hebrew). This letter resembles a hook and means “nail.” The waw (vav) is also the 6th letter in the Hebrew alphabet, (the number of man). Yahuwshuwa came as the Son of Man. He is YaHuWaH in the flesh. What does the waw (vav) teach us about Yahuwshuwa? Remember that Hebrew letters are pictures and symbols. The connection in these letters is apparent. Yahuwshuwa (the yod) came as the son of man (the vav) to offer His life as a sacrifice. His hands (yod) were pierced by a nail (vav) to bring salvation.

Yahuwshuwa was crucified through his hands and feet, as prophesied in Psalm 22:16 “The assembly of the wicked have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and my feet.” The letters in Yahuwshuwa’s name foretell His death. The fact that the nail can also mean “a tent peg” alludes to the fact that Messiah died for “the two houses of Yisra’el” and both houses are thought to be “tents” in ancient Hebrew thought. The House of Ephrayim and the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) are going to be brought together into “one stick” or “one tree” according to the prophecy in Ezekiel 37:15-19.

The fourth letter in the name of Yahuwshuwa is as follows:

The Shin = the tooth:

The Lion of the Tribe of Yahuwdah (Judah) has teeth that will gnash upon the wicked at his return. He will rescue his sheep out of the mouth of the impostor (Satan who comes like a roaring lion). Messiah’s teeth are likened unto a flock of his sheep because they feed upon the nourishment of his word and chew upon the spiritual food that brings nourishment to the soul.

Shir ha’Shiriym (Song of Solomon) 4:2 Your teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.

Here is a prophesy about the House of Ya’aqob (Jacob---the elect of YHWH) and the men of Israel and though they may feel helpless like a “worm” against their enemies, YaHuWaH will come and redeem them through his son Yahuwshuwa and he will make them as an instrument that has teeth that they may thresh the mountains (the impossible situations).

Shir ha’Shiriym (Song of Solomon) 6:6 Your teeth are as a flock of sheep which go up from the washing, whereof every one bears twins, and there is not one barren among them.

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 41:

14 Fear not, you worm Yaaqob, and you men of Yisrael; I will help you, says YHWH, and your redeemer, the Holy One of Yisrael.

15 Behold, I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: you shall thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shall make the hills as chaff.

The final sixth letter in the name Yahuwshuwa is seen below:

The Ayin: the eye:

Messiah teaches us with his Torah (instructions) and he guides his sheep with his watchful eye:

Tehilliym (Psalm) 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye.

Tehilliym (Psalm) 33:18 Behold, the eye of YHWH is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.

What is the “eye of YaHuWaH?” It is the Messiah’s eye! Remember that YaHuWaH has no image of his own for he is invisible. He can only be seen in the image of the son Yahuwshuwa. Yahuwshuwa’s body contains the “fullness” of the divinity of YaHuWaH (Colossians 2:9)

Chazown (Revelation) 1:14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

Chazown (Revelation) 2:18 And unto the angel of the congregation in Thyatira write; These things says the Son of Elohiym, who has his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;

Chazown (Revelation) 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

When Messiah returns he will take vengeance on the enemies of his elect:

Yowb (Job) 16:9 He tears me in his wrath, who hates me: he gnashes upon me with his teeth; my enemy sharpens his eyes upon me.

As it was done to his beloved bride, so shall it be done to those who persecuted her. Our Messiah is coming with teeth like a Lion and eyes like a flame of fire to execute justice and avenge the blood of his saints.

Now we can see that we must call upon his literal name for Salvation because in his literal name contains his character!

Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 23:6 In his days Yahuwdah (Judah) shall be saved, and Yisra’el shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, YHWH our RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 33:16 In those days shall Yahuwdah (Judah) be saved, and Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, YHWH our righteousness.

Maaseh Shlichiym (Acts) 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be saved.

Romiym (Romans) 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of YHWH shall be saved.

Can People Be Saved Calling Upon the Name Jesus?

Back in the summer of 2006, I was in a season of fasting and prayer and I had a question for the Heavenly Father. My question was this: “Does the name Jesus really come from Zeus?” I was confused about whether or not the Greco-Roman name of “Jesus” came from the Greek pagan god Zeus or not. I had heard the arguments on both sides and I was not really sure what to believe about this. But the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) taught me a very profound truth when I asked him about this.

He revealed to me many patterns in scripture where the patriarchs and the prophets of old were given the names of false pagan deities while they were in exile. Such people were: Esther, Joseph, Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, etc. But Yah only allowed this so that they could be relevant to their pagan cultures and do mighty exploits for the Elohiym of Yisra’el. But then came the moment of truth, when their true identity and the identity of the one whom they served had to be revealed.

Esther was sent by YaHuWaH “incognito” in the Persian Empire in order to save her people. The name “Esther” derives from the fertility goddess from Ancient Babylon named Easter (Ishtar). Her cousin Mordecai commanded her to “hide” her true Hebrew identity under this pagan name so as not to become a target by the Persians.

But even with this pagan name, Esther was mightily used by Yah to save her people. It was later revealed that she was from the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) of the Tribe of Binyamiyn (Benjamin) and her real name was Hadassah.

Interestingly, the name “Esther” means “hidden” and the name of YaHuWaH is also “hidden” from us in the book of Esther. There are 19 places in the book of Esther, where the name “HaYah” is seen in Hebrew which is #1961 in the Concordance. Every time we see the phrase “and it came to pass,” that phrase is only one word----HaYah which means “he who causes to exist; he who brings it to pass.” This is the very same name given to Mosheh (Moses) at the burning bush in Exodus 3:14 where he said “I AM that I AM.” This name can also be said as “I will be who I will be.” In Revelation 1:8, another way of saying this name is “the one who is and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Just like Esther, our Messiah had a hidden identity and a hidden name, yet he was there all along in the nations saving his own people.

Now let us observe another parallel between our Messiah, Yahuwshuwa and the patriarch Joseph in Egypt. It is important to note that Pharaoh is called the “dragon” in Ezekiel 29:3:

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 29:3 Speak, and say, Thus says YHWH Elohiym; Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim (Egypt), the great dragon that lies in the midst of his rivers, which has said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself.

So you see, Yahuwceph (Joseph) was given another name by the dragon, Pharaoh, in the very same way that our Messiah, Yahuwshuwa was given another name (Jesus Christ) by the Greek & Latin Scribes, and by the Roman Emperor Constantine.

The Hebrew name for Joseph is YaHuWceph because his name contains the name of our Heavenly Father in it (YaHuW). But his true Hebrew name was hidden for a time as he was given a heathen Egyptian name:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 41:45 And Pharaoh called Yahuwceph’s (Joseph’s) name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Yahuwceph (Joseph) went out over all the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt).

What is fascinating is that everything with Joseph was “doubled.” As a teenager, he was shown two dreams which he told to his brothers and he was ridiculed for it. When he was later sent to Egypt, he interpreted two dreams for the baker and the butler while he was in jail. He was finally released out of prison when he interpreted two dreams for the Pharaoh.

Joseph even received a “double portion” of his father Jacob’s inheritance in Genesis 48:22. Therefore, it  should come as no surprise that this name Zaphnath-paaneah has a “double meaning.”

The Hebrew Strong’s Concordance defines this name in Egyptian:

#6847 Tsophnath Pa`neach tsof-nath’ pah-nay’-akh of Egyptian derivation; Tsophnath-Paneach, Joseph’s Egyptian name:--Zaphnath-paaneah.

In the Blue Letter Bible, it says the following about this Egyptian name given to Joseph:

Zaphnath-paaneah “salvation of the ages” or “treasury of the glorious rest.”

But in Hebrew this name means “a revealer of a secret!”

Aha! So now we see that at our Messiah’s first coming, he fulfilled the role of “Mashiyach Ben Yahuwceph” (Messiah Son of Joseph), the “suffering servant.” He was given the Gentile pagan name of “Jesus Christ” by the Papacy (the beast) just as Joseph was given a pagan name by Pharaoh, the dragon! But our Messiah also had a “hidden name” that would later be revealed to the true Sons of Yisra’el!

As he is getting ready to return for his elect of Yisra’el, Yahuwshuwa is now revealing himself as “Mashiyach Ben Dawiyd” (Messiah Son of David), the “conquering reigning king.”

Now, what is very interesting is that this name Zaphnath-paaneah also comes from the Hebrew form of the name of the prophet Zephaniah which literally means “Yah has secreted!”

#6846 Tsphanyah tsef-an-yaw or Tsphanyahuw {tsef-an-yaw’-hoo}; from 6845 and 3050; Jah has secreted; Tsephanjah, the name of four Israelites:--Zephaniah.

The Egyptian meaning of this name Zaphnath-paaneah means “salvation of the ages” but in Hebrew it means “revealer of a secret!”

We can see by the Hebrew root word below that this name means: to keep something a secret, to hide, to reserve for an appointed time in history:

#6845 tsaphan tsaw-fan’ a primitive root; to hide (by covering over); by implication, to hoard or reserve; figuratively to deny; specifically (favorably) to protect, (unfavorably) to lurk:--esteem, hide, lay up, lurk (be set) privily, (keep) secret-ly, place).

Now why is this significant? Because the prophet Zephaniah or  Tzephanyahuw is the one who was given a very important end-time prophecy about how the secret name of our Creator would be revealed to us in the last days!

Tzephanyahuw (Zephaniah) 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWHto serve him with one consent.

What is even more amazing is that when Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, he said to them “I am Yahuwceph,” and that is when their eyes were opened to him:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 45:4 And Yahuwceph (Joseph) said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Yahuwceph (Joseph) your brother, whom you sold into Mitzrayim (Egypt).

We can observe yet another Messianic pattern here. The name “Yahuwceph” literally means “YaHuWaH increases” or “YaHuWaH has added.”

Our Heavenly Father’s name (YaHuW) is in the name of Joseph. This goes to show that the Father is revealed to us through his Son! Just as Joseph was revealed to his brothers when he said his Heavenly Father’s name (YaHuW), so will our Messiah also be revealed to the true sons of Yisra’el, when the Father’s name is revealed in the name of the Son!

This is why it is so important that we call our Messiah but his true name which is YaHuWshuwa, for the Father’s name is what reveals the true Messiah:

Yahuwchanon (John) 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and you receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him you will receive.

In the Strong’s Hebrew Concordance, we can see the fuller form of his name as “Yahuwceph” and the shortened form of “Yowceph” where the scribes purposely removed the Father’s name:

#3084 Yhowceph yeh-ho-safe’ a fuller form of 3130; Jehoseph (i.e. Joseph), a son of Jacob:--Joseph; Jehovah has added.

#3130 Yowceph yo-safe’ future of 3254; let him add (or perhaps simply active participle adding); Joseph, the name of seven Israelites:--Joseph; Jehovah has added. Compare to 3084.

The Secret Name that No Man Knows?

I often hear the excuse that “nobody knows” the name of our Messiah until he returns based on this scripture:

Chazown (Revelation) 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

But the key to understanding this passage comes four verses later:

Chazown (Revelation) 19:16 And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING Of KINGS, And MASTER Of MASTERS

As you can see, in Revelation 19:12 it says that he has a “name written” that no man “knew.”

The Greek word for “name” in this passage is as follows:

Strong#G3686  onoma: the name is used for everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. for one’s rank, authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds etc.

The Greek word for “written” in this passage is as follows:

Strong#G1125  graphō: to write, with reference to the form of the letters; to delineate (or form) letters on a tablet, parchment, paper, or other material; to write, with reference to the contents of the writing; to express in written characters.

The Greek word for “knew” in this passage is as follows:

Strong#G1492  eidō: to see; to perceive with the eyes; to perceive by any of the senses; to perceive, notice, discern, discover.

This means the name that is “written” on his thigh: KING OF KINGS & MASTER OF MASTERS!

This is the title or the name that has yet to be revealed to us, for he is our High Priest after the order of Malkiy Tzadiq (Melchizedek), which is the office of both a King & Priest!

Revelation 19:12 is not telling us that we cannot know his proper name until he returns. If many were baptized (immersed) in the name of Yahuwshuwa in the first century, then obviously people had to know his name in order to be saved. Revelation 19:12 is telling us that nobody perceives or discerns his office or his rank yet until we behold him “face-to-face!”

The true sons and daughters of Yisra’el are now being shown his “secret name,” for he only reveals his secrets to his servants the prophets:

Amowc (Amos) 3:7 Surely YHWH Elohiym will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Other Patriarchs Who Were Given Pagan Names

Daniel and his three Hebrew companions from the House of Judah were given Babylonian pagan names for a time:

Daniyel (Daniel) 1:

6 Now among these were of the children of YahuwdahDaniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

7 Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

The Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) showed me the same thing about our Messiah. He was given a pagan name for a season as “Jesus” but now, his true Hebrew name is being revealed in these last days, just like Joseph, Daniel & Esther!

How Did the Name of our Messiah Get Changed?

In 164 B.C, Antiochus Ephiphanes erected an image of Zeus on December 25th in the 2nd Jewish Temple (another pattern of the Antichrist). This is another anti-type showing how our Messiah’s image has been distorted to Zeus born on December 25th. It totally fits the pattern!

The only reason why people can still be born-again and saved when calling upon the name of “Jesus Christ,” is because in Romans 8:26, we read the following passage:

Romiym (Romans) 8:26 Likewise the Ruwach (Spirit) also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Ruwach (Spirit) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

So you see, the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) is able to interpret what people are trying to say from their hearts. When he sees that a person is truly righteous from the heart and they are calling upon the incorrect name of “Jesus,” he is able to interpret this as Yahuwshuwa before the throne of the Heavenly Father.

Our Messiah is like Joseph who was the “saviour” to the Egyptians (Gentiles), when he saved them from a famine. Yet to his Hebrew brothers, he was known by the Heavenly Fathers name Yahuwceph  which means “YaHuWaH increases.”

The Holy Spirit searches out our hearts and he interprets the name Jesus as the secret hidden name of Yahuwshuwa before the throne!

Romiym (Romans) 8:27 And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the qadowshiym (saints) according to the will of Elohiym.

But now in these last days, YaHuWaH is restoring the earth to “one pure language” as prophesied in Zephaniah 3:8-9:

8 Therefore wait you upon me, says YaHuWaH, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them my indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

9 For then will I turn to the people a pure languagethat they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve him with one consent.

And so let us keep on moving with the Holy Spirit as he gives revelation to the name that is above all other names, the one and only name that we call upon for salvation. In the wilderness, the children of Yisra’el had to keep on moving with the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. If they remained stagnant, they would be left behind as the rest of the camp would keep on moving. If they were stagnant, they would be stampeded and trampled as the rest kept on moving. We are in that day and hour where YaHuWaH is raising the bar!

Did the Name Jesus Originate With Zeus?

The Greeks and Romans did indeed change his name to Zeus for a good reason. It is because Zeus had a December 25th Birthday!

In Latin the term “Io” means “hail” or “praise.” Hence, on December 25th in Ancient Rome, people would give praises to the god Saturn on December 25th and shout “Io, Saturnalia, Io, Saturnalia!”

This was a day for drunkenness, orgies, child sacrifices and debauchery. Later on, the Roman pagan god of Jupiter & the Greek pagan god Zeus were merged into J’Zeus, and so the phrase “Io Zeus, Io Zeus” was used to “Praise Zeus” on December 25th. The Greek corruption for the name of our Messiah went from Yahuwshuwa to Iesous and this is how we came to the name J’Zeus (Jesus). So you see, Io Zeus is the same thing as Ieosus which means “Praise Zeus!”

Below you will read well-documented, historical evidence for this:

Constantine’s intention at Nicaea was to create an entirely new god for his empire who would unite all religious factions under one deity. Presbyters were asked to debate and decide who their new god would be. Delegates argued among themselves, expressing personal motive for inclusion of particular writings that promoted the finer traits of their own special deity. Throughout the meeting, howling factions were immersed in heated debates, and the names of 53 gods were tabled for discussion. “As yet, no God had been selected by the council, and so they balloted in order to determine that matter... For one year and five months the balloting lasted...” (Gods Book of Eskra, Prof. S.L. MacGuire’s translation, Salisbury, 1922, chapter xlviii, paragraphs 36, 41).

At the end of that time, Constantine returned to the gathering to discover that the presbyters had not agreed on a new deity but had balloted down to a short list of five prospects: Caesar, Krishna, Mithra, Horus and Zeus (Historia Ecclesiastica, Eusebius, c. 325). Constantine was the ruling spirit at Nicaea and he ultimately decided upon a new god for them. To involve British factions, he ruled that the name of the Druid god, Hesus, be joined with the Eastern Saviour-god, Krishna (Krishna is Sanskrit for Christ), and thus Hesus Krishna would be the official name of the new Roman god. A vote was taken and it was with a majority show of hands (161 votes to 157) that both divinities become one God. Following long-standing heathen custom, Constantine used the official gathering and the Roman apotheosis decree to legally deify two deities as one, and did so by democratic consent. A new god was proclaimed and “officially” ratified by Constantine (Acta Concilii Nicaeni, 1618). That purely political act of deification effectively and legally placed Hesus and Krishna among the Roman gods as one individual composite. That abstraction lent Earthly existence to amalgamated doctrines of the Empire’s new religion; and because there was no letter “J” in alphabets until around the ninth century, the name subsequently evolved into “Jesus Christ.”

To see more historic evidence about the origins of the name of Jesus, see my blog entitled: “Does the Name Jesus Really Come from Zeus?”

Beloved, I know that this may be a hard pill to swallow, but these are true historical facts. But having said all of this, I believe that people can still be saved when calling on the name Jesus when they do not know any better. But once people know better, we can no longer use the excuse that “any pronunciation will do.”

I believing that we should lead by example by using the true name of Yahuwshuwa ha’Mashiyach, and also displaying his character and the fruit of the Spirit. A wise preacher once said “People do not care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

When dealing with individuals in my private life or “one-on-one,” I do not try to force them to use the same pronunciation as I do. I believe in building a relationship first and when they ask me why I use the name of YaHuWaH and Yahuwshuwa, then I gladly share the revelation of the name and my testimony with them.

I proclaim and preach the name of YaHuWaH and Yahuwshuwa in my public ministry on the radio and in my blogs because I have been called to be a “Watchman to the House of Yisra’el.” My primary calling is to call the lost sheep to come out of Mystery Babylon religion and paganism (Revelation 18:4).

Below is more historic evidence about the name Jesus coming from Zeus by a reliable source. The deceased Messianic Jewish evangelist and historian Art Katz, cites the origins of the true name of the Messiah and the Elohiym of Yisra’el from his former website:

The original Hebrew or Jewish name of the professing Jewish Messiah, who was accepted as such by a certain section (some 3,000 souls) of Israel, at and after His appearance in Israel, some 2,000 years ago. To them He was known as Yahuwshuwa (abbreviated: Y’shuwa) and pronounced in Modern Hebrew as: Yehowshuwa or Yeshuwa. In time, over the first few centuries after Messiah, His name was gradually changed to “Je-Zeus Khristos” by the pagan masses who converted and joined the originally Jewish Messianic Sect.

Out of this, Christianity was born, which was a mixture of originally pure Judaism, and gradually, progressive influences of pagan customs and traditions, together with a growing tide of an anti-Semitic spirit. This was greatly due to the instigation of influential leaders like Constantine the Great, who was a Zeus worshiper, and who purportedly converted to Christianity. It was also a natural process as a result of the infiltration of followers of the sun god, Zeus, into the Christian ranks. Even the name of their pagan idol Zeus was applied to their new-found Jewish Messiah - and Y’shuwa (the abbreviated transliteration of Yahuwshuwa), became “Y’Zeus” or Je-Zeus - which became ‘Jesus’ in English (NOTE: the middle ‘s’ is pronounced as a ‘z’). In other languages, it took on various other forms.

Art Katz’s biography is at this website:

It is obvious now from looking at all the examples I have shown in scripture, that our Heavenly Father allowed our Messiah Yahuwshuwa to be given the name of Jesus until the “fullness of the Gentiles” is accomplished (Roman 11:25).

Like Queen Esther whose true name was Hadassah, the Father has allowed our Messiah to be given a heathen name for a season so that at a later time in history, all the nations who love the Messiah (whom they call Jesus), would rise up to fast and pray for the House of Judah (Jews) in Yisrael to be saved from their enemies.

After all, YaHuWaH is the one who confounded (confused) our languages in the first place at the Tower of Babel, because he did not want everyone to be unified under the satanic empire of Nimrod (see Genesis 10-11). But that was only temporary, until the time of the Gentiles would be fulfilled!

YaHuWaH also knew that the besowrah (gospel) would be published in every tongue, tribe and nation of the earth. He knew that his name would be “hidden” and distorted by the enemy. However, he also knows who people are calling upon when they call him from their hearts based on their corrupted Bible translations.

I believe that people can be saved using these incorrect translations of his name, because I was also miraculously born-again and saved back in 1981 when I only knew the name of Jesus.

I do not believe that when people are calling on the name of Jesus, that they are calling upon Zeus from their hearts. I am only revealing the historic facts about his name being changed so that we can begin to walk in truth. I realize that scripture tells us that Elohiym looks upon the heart:

1st Shemuw’el (Samuel) 16:7 “……for man looks on the outward appearance, but YHWH looks on the heart.

The Birth Certificate Analogy

Did you know that the word “baby” actually comes from the word Babylon? The etymology of the word “baby” comes from the idea that babies speak in “babel” which is nothing but a confusing bunch of phrases that do not have meaning.

The word “babel” means “confusion” in Hebrew, and we read in Genesis 11, that our Creator purposely “confounded” the languages at the Tower of Babel.

He did this in order to prevent Nimrods satanic empire from becoming even more powerful. And so with that understanding, let’s think about this logically. When you were a newborn baby, your earthly father gave you his last name on a birth certificate. But you were not able to speak or even say your last name yet!

Consequently, our Heavenly Father “seals” his elect in the forehead with his name even while they are yet “babies” in the faith (still in Babylon). Once they come out of Babylon, and they begin to mature in their faith, he begins to teach them his true name!

There are people within the sacred name movement who will try to make you doubt your salvation, just because you were a newborn baby in the faith at one time who could only speak “baby language.” Beloved, we are told in 1st Keefa (Peter) 1:1-2 that the “elect” are chosen “after the foreknowledge of the Father!”

We are given the name of our Father not based on our ability to pronounce it, but based on his election of grace!

The Story of Alissa

Back in the year 2000, I used to run a day care business in my home and I babysat a little 18-month old girl named Alissa. At the time, my son Jeremiah was a Senior in High School and when he would walk in the door after school, little Alissa could not say my son Jeremy’s name properly and so she would call him “dummy.”

Jeremy at the time thought it was cute and we both laughed. Jeremy would say to me “Mom, she is the only one who is allowed to call me a dummy.” We did not try to correct her, but as time went on, she learned how to say his name correctly as she learned by our example. Today Alissa is a teenager, and if she were to call my son Jeremy a “dummy” her parents would scold her, and Jeremy would find this to be disrespectful.

When Alissa was unable to say his name properly, there was grace, and for Jeremy, it became “a term of endearment” as he realized that she was just a baby doing the best she knew how. Our Heavenly Father is the same way.

He sees his babies trying to call upon his name in “baby language” (Babel or confusion) and to him it is “endearing” because he knows what they are trying to say! But once they grow up in the faith and they do know how to say his name, then it becomes a whole different matter. If you want to learn more about how to say the name of the Heavenly Father and the Messiah’s name, see my other article entitled: “The Covenant Name of Salvation Revealed.”

The Original Pure Language of our Creator

As you can see from the graphic that I have provided from esword, in Genesis 1:1 in the Ancient Paleo Hebrew manuscript of the TaNaKh (Old Testament), we read: “In the beginning Elohiym created the Alef & Taw.”

In the Hebrew Concordance, this word is #H853 “eyth” pronounced as “eight.” These letters appear literally thousands of times in the TaNaKh (Old Testament) in Hebrew, but the English translators left them out. These letters symbolize the “Red Heifer being nailed to the cross!”

Now, let us look at the same passage in English with the Alef & Taw inserted:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 1:1 In the beginning Elohiym created ALEF & TAWאתthe heaven (shamayim) and ואת WAW, ALEF & TAWthe earth (erets).

As you can see, first Elohiym created the Hebrew Alphabet, symbolized by the Alef & Taw. And then, right after that, it says that he created “heaven.” The Alef is the head of an ox and it means “strong leader,” and it symbolizes the Red Heifer sacrifice seen in Numbers 19. The Waw is a picture of a nail or a tent peg, and it symbolizes the sacrifice of our Messiah. Then finally the Taw is a picture of the “cross or the two sticks” of Ezekiel 37:16 (Ephrayim & Judah). These symbols mean that our Messiah was nailed to two sticks (two trees) for Two Houses of Yisrael!

Beloved, what this means is that first Elohiym created these letters and then he created words out of these letters which he also used to create everything else:

Ibriym (Hebrews) 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of Elohiym, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

The original pure language is Ancient Hebrew and he is going to restore the people of the earth back to this one pure language as prophesied in Zephaniah 3:9!

Frequently I hear the worn out excuse that “nobody knows how to pronounce the name of the Father.” They reason that since the name has been banned by the Jewish Talmud for centuries, that there is no way to know for sure how to pronounce it. But beloved, scripture proves that we are able to know the true pronunciation when we simply ask him in prayer. He promises in Luke 11:11 that we will not be given a stone if we ask for a loaf of bread. How much more will our Heavenly Father reveal the pronunciation his name to those who ask?

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 36:23 And I will sanctify MY GREAT NAME, which was profaned among the heathen, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am YHWH, says YHWH Elohiym, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 39:7 So will I make my qodesh (holy) name known in the midst of my people Yisrael; and I will not let them pollute my qodesh (holy) name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am YHWH, the Qodesh (Holy) One in Yisra’el.

As we can see by the above scriptures, YaHuWaH will make his name known to his people!

The Vatican Bans the Divine Name

In the second century, a man by the name of Clement of Alexandria translated the divine name of Yod, Hey, Waw, Hey (YHWH) from the Hebrew scriptures as “Yahweh.” Over time the Roman Catholic Church began using this pronunciation in their hymnal and prayer books. But the “Yahweh” pronunciation is Greek---not Hebrew. The Greek scribes changed all Hebrew names ending with the “ah” sound to the “eh” due to the fact that male names in Greek never end with “ah,” but female names in Greek do. Hence, to avoid the idea that YaHuWaH was a feminine deity, the vowels were changed to make his name sound more Greek. See more evidence for this at this blog: “Proof that ‘Yahweh’ is a Greek Pronunciation.”

But now, since 2008, the Vatican has now come into agreement with the “Noahide Laws” of Judaism in banning the divine name for “Gentile Christians.” See the news article below:

The Vatican instead is calling for the use of the Muslim deity name of “Allah!”

See the news article below:

Beloved, this is precisely why we cannot use the excuse that “any name will do” or “any pronunciation will do.” Can you see where this ambiguity about the name is leading to? It is leading to the one world religion of the Anti-Messiah!

To read more about how the ban on the divine name of YaHuWaH began, see the article by author and Hebrew Scholar Nehemia Gordon:

The Ban on the Divine Name
by Nehemia Gordon

One of the maladies of modern Judaism is the strict prohibition against uttering the name of the Creator. The modern Rabbinic law code Mishnah Berurah explains:

It is forbidden to read the glorious and terrible name as it is written, as the sages said “He that pronounces the name as it is written has no portion in the world to come.” Therefore it must be read as if it were written Adonai (Mishnah Berurah 5:2).

This is hardly a modern innovation. It appears already in the early 3rd century CE in the Mishnah tractate of Sanhedrin:

“The following have no portion in the world to comeAbba Saul says: one who pronounces the divine name as it is written (Mishnah Sanhedrin 10:1).

What are the Noahide Laws?

Now I want to illustrate why the Anti-Messiah (Antichrist) will decapitate those who call upon the true name of our Creator:

Chazown (Revelation) 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yahuwshuwa, and for the word of Elohiym, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Mashiyach (Messiah) a thousand years.

The Noahide Laws are based purely upon man-made traditions of Judaism and not upon scripture. Scripture is clear that the Towrah (Mosaic Law) is to be obeyed by both the “stranger” and the Yisraelite who is “natural-born:”

Shemoth (Exodus) 12:49 One Towrah (law) shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourns among you.

Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 24:22 You shall have one manner of Towrah (law), as well for the strangeras for one of your own country: for I am YHWH Elohiym.

Bemidbar (Numbers) 15:16 One Towrah (law) and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourns with you.

The Noahide Laws are growing in popularity. They have even reached the U. S. Congress:

“The U.S. Congress officially recognized the Noahide Laws in legislation that was passed by both houses. Congress and the President of the U. S., George Bush, indicated in Public Law 102-14, 102nd  Congress, that the United States of America was founded upon the Seven Universal Laws of Noah, and that these Laws have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization. They also acknowledged that the Seven Laws of Noah are the foundation upon which civilization stands and that recent weakening of these principles threaten the fabric of civilized society, and that justified preoccupation in educating the Citizens of the U.S. of America and future generations is needed. For this purpose, this Public Law designated March 26, 1991 as Education Day.”

Sadly, this is not just for the state of Yisra’el (Israel) or even the United States, but for the whole world:

“This obligation, to teach all the peoples of the earth about the Laws of Noah, is incumbent upon every individual in every era” -- (Mishnah Torah, Law of Kings 8:10).

“Gentiles May Not Be Taught the Torah. Inasmuch as the Jews had their own distinct jurisdiction, it would have been unwise to reveal their laws to the Gentiles, for such knowledge might have operated against the Jews in their opponents’ courts. Hence, the Talmud prohibited the teaching to a Gentile of the Torah, the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob (Deuteronomy 33:4).

R. Johanan says of one such teaching: “Such a person deserves death” (an idiom used to express indignation). “It is like placing an obstacle before the blind” (Sanhedrin. 59a; ‘ag. 13a).

“A Gentile observing the Sabbath deserves death” (Sanhedrin 58b)...….All Gentiles found keeping the 7th day Sabbath shall be found guilty of breaking the Noahide Law and must be punished to the fullest… Decapitation….No gentile shall be permitted to speak (Ha’shem) the name of YHWH, all who have blasphemy and are found guilty of breaking the Noahide Law and shall be punished to the fullest... Decapitation.

Now stop and ponder this prophecy:

Chazown (Revelation) 14:12 Here is the patience of the qodesh ones (saints) here are they that keep the Commandments of Eloah and testimony of Yahuwshuwa.

According to Judaism, if a person believes in Messiah Yahuwshuwa, they are considered a Gentile and not recognized as a Yahuwdiy (Jew) as taught by the Apostle Shauwl (Paul) in Romans 2:26-29. Therefore, to believe in the Messiah and to call upon the Heavenly Father’s name buys you a ticket to the guillotine!

To those who would say “The pronunciation is not that important,” let me ask you a question. If the pronunciation is not that important, then why then does Satan care enough to kill us over this?

The Five Wise vs. The Five Foolish Virgins

Ultimately, the pronunciation does matter, even though our Heavenly Father is being patient with those who as of yet do not have a revelation of his name. The name of our Creator is what separates the wise from the foolish virgins:

Shir ha’Shariym (Song of Solomon) 1:3 Because of the savor of your good ointments your name is as ointment poured forththerefore do the virgins love you.

If our Creator’s name is like “oil,” and the virgins love him because of his NAME, then we should be able to make the connection now about who the“five wise virgins” are! In Matthew 25, the five wise virgins have “oil” in their lamps, which is a symbol of his name!

You will notice a close similarity in Hebrew with the word “oil” (shemen) and the word “name” (shem):

#8081 shemen sheh’-men from 8080; grease, especially liquid (as from the olive, often perfumed); figuratively, richness:--anointing, X fat (things), X fruitful, oil((-ed)), ointment, olive, + pine.

#8034 shem shame a primitive word (perhaps rather from 7760 through the idea of definite and conspicuous position; Compare 8064); an appellation, as a mark or memorial of individuality; by implication honor, authority, character:--+ base, (in-)fame(-ous), named(-d), renown, report.

Now let us insert the Hebrew words in this passage:

Shir ha’Shariym (Song of Solomon) 1:3 Because of the savor of your good ointments your name [shem] is as ointment [shemen] poured forththerefore do the virgins love you.

As you can see, the anointing oil comes from knowing his true name!

In Revelation 3:8, the Assembly of Philadelphia has an open door because they have “not denied his name!”

What is the Name that We Call Upon for Salvation?

Yowel (Joel) 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be delivered: for in mount Tziyown (Zion) and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as YHWH has said, and in the remnant whom YHWH shall call.

If the name that we call upon for salvation in the TaNaKh (Old Testament) is YaHuWaH, and we know that our Father in Heaven does not change, how is it that the name that we call upon for salvation changes in Acts 4:12 to Jesus or Yeshua? You see, this bothered me for a long time until I realized that the name of our Messiah already contains the Father’s name in it as YaHuWshuwa!

In Romans 10:13 the name YaHuWaH is shown in the Aramaic Peshitta instead of the word “Lord” which was later used to replace the proper name that we call upon for salvation. The Greek term “the Lord” (kurios) is a title that can also apply to the person you pay your rent to every month---your landlord!

And so how did the name for salvation suddenly change to “Jesus” in Acts 4:12? Well the answer to that question is “It didn’t!”

The name we call upon for salvation is “the same yesterday, today and forever: Yahuwshuwa Mashiyach” (Hebrews 13:8).

Beloved, John 5:43 tells us that he came in his Father’s name!

Believe me, I did not start using the name Yahuwshuwa on a whim. I fasted and prayed about it back in 2006 and then I discovered the history of what the scribes did to hide his name. What is the name of salvation in the TaNaKh (Old Testament)? And what is the name of salvation in the Briyth Chadashah (New Testament)?

Tehilliym (Psalm) 116:4 Then called I upon the name of YHWH; O YHWH, I beseech you, deliver my soul.

Tehilliym (Psalm) 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of YHWH.

Romiym (Romans) 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of YHWH shall be saved.

The name that we call upon for salvation in the TaNaKh (Old Testament) as well as the Briyth Chadashah (New Testament) is not the Greek word “kurios” (Lord), and neither is it “Jesus.” The name of our Heavenly Father is referred to as the Tetragrammaton” which are these four letters: Yod, Hey, Waw, Hey.

So this begs the questions: “What is the only name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved?”

Maaseh Shlichiym (Acts) 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

If the Old Testament is to be consistent without contradiction to the New Testament, how is it that the name for salvation changed from YaHuWaH (YHWH) to Yeshua or Jesus?

There is only one answer to this question that makes any sense at all. The name of salvation has never changed! It is still Yod, Hey, Waw, Hey!

The son’s name has the Father’s name in it!
