Speaking with “Renewed Tongues” on The Feast of Weeks

Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that has been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

What has traditionally been called “The Day of Pentecost” in the 2nd chapter of Acts, had been known by the Ancient Hebrews at the time of the Exodus as “The Feast of Weeks
 or Shabuwoth.”

The word Pentecost” in Greek literally means “fiftieth day.”

Unbeknownst to many in the Christian Church, the first “Pentecost” took place on Mount Sinai when Elohiym wrote the commandments in stone tablets with his own finger for Mosheh (Moses) and the Children of Yisra’el (Exodus 24:3-11).

The covenant at Sinai created the nation of Yisrael, and the renewing of this very same covenant by our Messiah is called “The Renewed Covenant or “Briyth Chadashah. Thus, the “New Covenant at Tziyown (Zion) in Jerusalem created the worldwide people of Elohiym who are the redeemed from “every tribe and tongue (Revelation 5:9).

Contrary to popular belief, this event in the second chapter of Acts was not the “Birth of the New Testament Church.” What was actually taking place on that day was the “Rebirth of the true Yisra’el. This would then give way for the “Fullness of the Gentiles” to come forth over the succeeding 2,000 years (Romans 11:25; Genesis 48:19).

The Feast of Weeks or Pentecost Instituted at the Exodus

YaHuWaH commanded Yisrael in Leviticus 23:15-16 to “count seven sabbaths,” following the Day of First Fruits until the fiftieth day. On the fiftieth day, is a High Sabbath, known as “The Feast of Weeks or Shabuwoth.” In Modern Hebrew it is referred to as “Shavuot.”

Some people may think it strange that I spell the word “Shavuot,” as “Shabuwoth,” however, there was no “Vee sound” in Ancient Hebrew. The letter “Beyt” makes the same sound as our English letter “B,” but in modern Hebrew, the Beyt also makes the sound of the English letter “V,” called a “Veyt.” I prefer the more ancient usage of the Hebrew Letters.

Hence, the root word is seen in the Hebrew Concordance for “week” (singular) as follows:

#7620 shabuwashaw-boo’-ah or shabuan {shaw-boo’-ah}; also (feminine) shbu.ah {sheb-oo-aw’}; properly, passive participle of 7650 as a denominative of 7651; literal, sevened, i.e. a week (specifically, of years):--sevenweek.

This is where we derive the name “Shabuwoth,” because it is a “Feast of Weeks,” plural. The singular would be “Shabuwah.”

The Festival of Weeks (Hebrew חג השבועות Chag ha’Shabuwoth) can be found in Exodus 34:22 and Deuteronomy 16:10.

It is also called the Festival of Reaping (Hebrew: חג הקציר, Chag ha’Qatsir) in Exodus 23:16, and Day of the First Fruits (Hebrew יום הביכורים, Yom ha’Bikkuriym) in Numbers 28:26.

It may seem confusing to some people that there are two holy days referred to as Day of the First Fruits. However, there are three harvest times in Yisrael, each of which have three individual days of reaping the “first fruits.” There is the first barley harvest in the spring; the first wheat harvest in the summer; and the second wheat harvest and grape harvest in the fall.

Three Harvest Times Point to Three Prophetic Events in History

1.) The Feast of First-Fruits at the first barley harvest: this is when the priest is commanded to cut the first barley sheaf, on the first day of the week following the Passover (Leviticus 23:9-14). This was when our Messiah resurrected, at sundown on the 7th day of the week, commencing the first day of the week. It was at this time, that he redeemed all the righteous souls who were in the Bosom of Abraham (Luke 16:19-31), and he presented them at the throne of the Father in heaven as his “first fruits” wave-sheaf offering (Ephesians 4:8-9).

2.) The Feast of Weeks at the first wheat harvest: this is when the Apostle Keefa (Peter) preached a message in the 2nd chapter of Acts 2:14-41 and 3,000 souls who were saved that very day (Leviticus 23:25-22).

3.) The Feast of Ingathering or Tabernacles (Sukkot) at the final wheat and grape harvest: this is when our Messiah will gather in the exiles from the four corners of the earth, making them one stick in the hand of YaHuWaH (Leviticus 23:33-44; Matthew 24:29-31; Ezekiel 37:16-19; Revelation 14:14-20).

The Fiftieth Day Points to Ten Tribes Restored to the Five Books of the Towrah

The Hebrew word for “fifty” in Leviticus 23:16 is defined in the Strong’s Concordance below:

#2572 chamishshiym kham-ish-sheem’ multiple of 2568; fifty:--fifty.

This Hebrew word for “fifty” denotes a multiplication from the root word for “five.”

#2568 chamesh khaw-maysh’ masculine chamishshah {kham-ish-shaw}; a primitive numeral; five:--fif(-teen), fifthfive (X apiece).

What is interesting is that the number “five” prophetically symbolizes the “Towrah,” or the five books transcribed by Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy.

The number “Ten” also prophetically points to the “Ten Northern Tribes of the House of Ephrayim.” In Jeremiah 3:8 and in Hosea 1:9, YaHuWaH divorced these Ten Tribes and called them “no longer my people.”

However, he also promised to remarry them again in the future after the “Fullness of the Gentiles” would be accomplished (Genesis 48:19; Hosea 2:19-20; Romans 11:25).

In Zechariah 8:23, we read an end-time prophecy about the Gentiles who will come out of the nations, and they shall take hold of the “tzit-tziyt” of one Yahuwdiy (Jew). The King James Version uses the word “skirt” in this passage.

However, the Hebrew word for “skirt” is “kanaph” which literally means “the four corners of the garment,” where Yisra’el is commanded to place the “fringes” with one blue thread on the four corners of their garment (Numbers 15:38-39).

Zekaryahuw (Zechariah) 8:23 Thus says YHWH of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt (tziyt-tziyt) of him that is a Yahuwdiy (Jew), saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that Elohiym is with you.

What are we seeing here?

We are seeing that the “ten men” represent the “Ten Northern Tribes” who are still in the nations as “Gentiles” (goyim). And when they begin to follow the Yahuwdiy (Jewish) Messiah and his Towrah, they will be joined with Yahuwdah (Judah) and thus become one house and one olive tree again.

The woman “with the issue of blood” (Matthew 9:20) who touched the hem of Yahuwshuwa’s garment (his fringes or tziyt-tziyt) was a prophetic picture of these divorced Ten Tribes who were ostracized from Yisra’el. She had to be quarantined according to the Towrah in Leviticus 15:19-25 because of her issue of blood which made her unclean. Likewise, we are spiritually unclean until we repent and take hold of the Messiah and his Towrah.

The Birth of the Church or the Revival of Yisrael?

Many in the Christian Church have erroneously been taught to believe that this event in Acts 2:38 was a brand new thing that was happening by the Almighty in order to usher in the “The New Testament Church.”

However, Acts 7:38 shows us clearly that the “Assembly” began in the wilderness of Sinai at the Exodus. The first time the Eternal One began calling them “The Congregation of Yisra’el” was in Exodus 12:3, and this was the same Assembly of people who were present on that famous day in the second chapter of Acts. The King James Version of the Bible refers to this group as “The Church in the Wilderness,” to whom Moses prophesied about the Messiah:

Acts 7:38 King James Version:

37 This is that Mosheh (Moses), which said unto the children of Yisra’el, A prophet shall YHWH your Elohiym raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall you hear.

38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us.

The Greek word “Ekklesia,” (meaning “A calling out or called out ones”) was mistranslated as “Church” in our English Bibles. The Hebrew word “Qahal” means “Assembly or Congregation.” The term “Church” comes from a Greek pagan goddess in mythology known as “Circe” (pronounced) as “Kirkee. Circe was the daughter of Helios, the god of the sun, and her mother was Hecate, the goddess of witchcraft.

Circe was renowned for her vast knowledge of potions and herbs. Through the use of magical potions and a wand or a staff, she transformed her enemies, or those who offended her, into animals. With a cup of wine, she seduced men into her submission, and then she would emasculate them by turning them into pigs.

Does this woman sound eerily familiar?

Revelation 17:4 describes her as one with a “golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

We most certainly do not want to be identified with this pagan goddess named “Church” or “Circe,” for she is none other than MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS (Revelation 17:5). We are commanded in Revelation 18:4 to come out of her, not join her!

The history behind the word “Church” indicates that she is a counterfeit to the true Congregation of Yisra’el. There are many within Christianity who reject the Mosaic Law (Towrah), as they refer to it as “being in bondage.” These people are just like Korah and his followers who were swallowed up by the earth because of their rebellion (Numbers 16:32; 26:10; Deuteronomy 11:6; Psalm 106:17).

But the true Yisraelites who love and obey the Towrah were gathered at the Temple in Jerusalem in the second chapter of Acts for the Feast of Shabuwoth/Pentecost fifty days after the resurrection of our Messiah.

These are the same people of Yisra’el who celebrated the first Feast of Shabuwoth/Pentecost fifty days after the Red Sea crossing, when Moses ascended to Mount Sinai to receive the commandments written in stone with “the finger of Elohiym.”

From the time that YaHuWaH brought them out of Egypt, the children of Yisra’el were commanded to celebrate the “fiftieth day” after the wave sheaf offering on First-Fruits:

Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:

10 Speak unto the children of Yisra’el, and say unto them, When you be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest:

11 And he shall wave the sheaf before YHWH, to be accepted for youon the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it.

*Note: the Sabbath being spoken of in the above verse, is the weekly Sabbath, the seventh day of the week (aka “Saturday”).

The first weekly Sabbath after Passover, at sundown (which would then commence the first day of the week), is when the priest would wave the first-fruits of the wave sheaf offering. From the day of that wave sheaf offering, we are commanded to count “seven Sabbaths” (49 days).

On the 50th day, (which always lands on the first day of the week), aka “Sunday,” we are commanded to offer unto YaHuWaH a “new meat” offering. The Hebrew word for “meat offering” is defined in the Concordance as follows:

#4503 minchah min-khaw’ from an unused root meaning to apportion, i.e. bestow; a donation; euphemistically, tribute; specifically a sacrificial offering (usually bloodless and voluntary):--gift, oblation, (meat) offering, present, sacrifice.

Since there is no Temple in Jerusalem at this time, and there is no sacrificial system in place, we must offer up our lives as a “living sacrifice” to YaHuWaH (Romans 12:1).

Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:

15 And you shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete:

16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meat offering unto YHWH.

In Acts 2:5, we learn that there were “dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.” What were these Yahuwdiy (Jews) doing in Jerusalem fifty days after Passover?

They were obeying the commandment to go to Jerusalem three times per year to keep the “Pilgrimage Feasts” at the Temple. These three feasts are: 1.) Pesakh/Passover, 2.) Shabuwoth/Pentecost, and 3.) Sukkoth/Tabernacles.

Shemoth (Exodus) 23:17 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the YHWH Elohiym.

What Really Happened in the Second Chapter of Acts?

In the body of Messiah today there are some misunderstandings about the mikvah/baptism in the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) evidenced by the gift of speaking with other tongues.

On the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost) detailed in the second chapter of Acts, the disciples did not speak in earthly languages as many falsely teach and believe. The men who were present in Jerusalem for the feast “heard” their own language being spoken. The miracle was in the ability to “hear” as the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) gave those who were visiting Jerusalem from other countries, the ability to hear the message in his own language:

Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:

1 And when the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost) was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit), and began to speak with other tongues, as the Ruwach (Spirit) gave them utterance.

5 And there were dwelling at Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) Yahuwdiy (Jews), devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

*Note: You will notice that these men were “confounded” just as YaHuWaH Elohiym had “confounded” their languages at the Tower of Babel:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one anothers speech.

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because YHWH did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did YHWH scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

The Hebrew word in the above verses for “confound” is #1101 in the Strong’s Concordance which is Balal, meaning: to mingle, to mix.

The once pure Hebrew language began to be mixed with the languages of the nations.

The Hebrew word for Babel is #894 which means “confusion.

Why would YaHuWaH cause the languages to be confused at the Tower of Babel? Why would he cause the men present on the day of Pentecost (Shabuwoth) to be confounded? You see, in Genesis 11:1, we read that at one time the entire world spoke “one language.”

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 11:1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.

What language was it? It was called Ancient Paleo Hebrew or what some call “Edenic.” You will also notice that at the Tower of Babel, the people were “one” in purpose under an evil empire.

However, on the day of Shabuwoth/Pentecost, they were all “in one accord” under the anointing of the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit), and that is when YaHuWaH began to reverse the confusion from the Tower of Babel!

At the Tower of Babel, YaHuWaH did not want the people to be unified under Nimrod’s pagan government, religion and economy.

Therefore, he purposely confused the languages of the earth in order to “divide” the empire. As a matter of fact, in Genesis 10:25, we learn that in the days of “Peleg,” the earth was literally “divided.” The Hebrew word for “divided” is “palag,” (the root from where we derive the name of Peleg), and it means “to split.”

This is where the biblical account of Pangaea occurred. Modern Science purports that Pangaea occurred millions of years ago. However, we know from the record of scripture, that the earth was one giant super-continent, until it was divided after the flood into seven continents. See the video below for evidence of the expanding earth wherein the continents were divided after the flood:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kL7qDeI05U

Nimrod was a precursor to the final Anti-Messiah, and the Tower of Babel was the first attempt at the New World Order. Because they were unified not under YaHuWaH and his Towrah, (but instead they were unified under a satanic empire and regime), he had to break this up.

Hence, he caused their languages to be “confounded” (confused) and mixed up. He caused the people to mingle with all different nations, tribes, and tongues. On the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost), in Acts chapter 2, these men were initially confounded (confused) because they were all from different nations. They at first did not understand what was being said. Why? If the disciples spoke in earthly languages, why did these men initially think they were drunk?

Since when does an earthly language resemble drunkenness? YaHuWaH was giving the disciples a “new language” that was “not of this world.” They were being given a language that belonged to a heavenly city called “New Jerusalem:”

Ibriym (Hebrews) 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore Elohiym is not ashamed to be called their Elohiym: for he has prepared for them a city.

Ibriym (Hebrews) 12:22 But you are come unto mount Tziyown (Zion), and unto the city of the living Elohiym, the heavenly Yerushalayim, (Jerusalem) and to an innumerable company of angels.

It is obvious that YaHuWaH was now restoring the confusion that he allowed at the Tower of Babel by giving each man the ability to “hear” this heavenly language. This language belongs to the New Yerushalayim/Jerusalem!

In other words, YaHuWaH was reversing the confusion from Babel in the second chapter of Acts. He was giving us “new tongues” for a “New Covenant” to go along with our “new citizenship” into the “New Jerusalem!

The disciples were not speaking in foreign, earthly languages, for they spoke with brand “new tongues.” This was a new kind of language unknown to mankind in first century Jerusalem:

Marqos (Mark) 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.

In this passage, the word “new” in Greek is the same word kainos which is also used in Luke 22:18-20, to describe what is called the “New Testament.”

This word kainos” means “fresh” or “renewal.” The word “new” implies that “never before” the day of Pentecost had this language been spoken. Yahuwshuwa gave us “new tongues” as a “sign” of his “New Covenant.” But was this really a “brand new” covenant and was it really a brand new language?

New or Renewed?

In all actuality, there is “nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). What we often refer to as “new is something that is recycled or is being presented to us again in a new way.

In Jeremiah 31:31 we read a prophecy about a “New Covenant” that YaHuWaH promised to make with the “Both Houses of Yisra’el” (Judah & Ephrayim):

Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 31:

31 Behold, the days come, says YHWH, that I will make a New Covenant with the house of Yisra’el, and with the house of Yahuwdah (Judah).

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they broke, although I was a husband unto them, says YHWH:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Yisra’el; After those days, says YHWH, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohiym, and they shall be my people.

The first thing that you will notice is that the “New Covenant” is a marriage covenant that was “unlike” the first covenant that Yisra’el broke. It would be the very same “laws” as the first covenant that YaHuWaH made with Yisra’el at Mount Horeb.

The only thing that would be different is the Towrah (Mosaic Law) would no longer be written in stone. Instead, the renewed marriage covenant would be written “in our hearts.” The Apostle Sha’uwl (Paul) confirmed this when he declared that the Mosaic Law (Towrah) would be transferred from stone into “fleshy tables of the heart” (2nd Corinthians 3:3).

Now let’s examine the Hebrew word for “new” in Jeremiah 31:31:

#2319 chadash khaw-dawsh’ from 2318; new:--fresh, new thing.

As you can see, the word for “new” covenant is “chadash” which means “fresh, new thing” but it also has another meaning:

#2318 chadash khaw-dash’ a primitive root; to be new; causatively, to rebuild:--renewrepair.

This same word “chadash” in Hebrew means “to rebuild, renew& repair.”

From this word “chadash,” we derive the term “new moon,” even though we know it is the same moon each month. The term “new moon,” actually means “a new cycle of the moon.”

The moon “renews” itself every month, but we call it a “new moon.” The Hebrew word “chodesh” means a new month or a new moon, but we know that it is not a brand new moon that YaHuWaH is creating each month. It is the very same moon, but it is being “renewed” from month to month.

#2320 chodesh kho’-desh from 2318; the new moon; by implication, a month:--monthly, new moon.

Likewise with the “Renewed Covenant, it is really the very same covenant (like the new moon every month is the same moon). However, we know that it is a brand new cycle of the same moon. Similarly, the “New Covenant,” means that the marriage covenant was being restored or repaired through the sacrifice of our Messiah.

A Renewed Marriage Covenant

Let me give you an example. I know a married couple who were divorced because of adultery many years ago. The husband, whose name I will call “Troy, loved his wife, “Marcy, and he did not want a divorce. But Troy continued to pray for Marcy for four years following their divorce, even though she was living in adultery with another man. After four years of prayer, Marcy was dumped by her lover one week before she was scheduled to marry him. It was this humiliating experience that caused Marcy to have remorse over the way that she violated her marriage covenant with Troy. Soon after that, she repented to YaHuWaH and to Troy, and today they are happily remarried.

Even though Troy & Marcy took the same vows all over again, and they made the same promises to one another as the first time, when Marcy shares her testimony she declares that she has “a brand new marriage. Troy & Marcy are the same people, and they are in the same marriage as before. The same terms and conditions still apply, but this time, they both declared that they are “new” on the inside. In other words, they have a renewed commitment towards one another. However, they still refer to this as a “brand new marriage.

And such is the case with Yisra’el when they agreed to the marriage covenant with YaHuWaH at Mount Sinai in Exodus 19. They agreed to the terms and conditions of the covenant when they took wedding vows. This took place fifty days after they left Egypt on Passover, and walked through the Red Sea (Yam Cuwph). In other words, this wedding took place on Shabuwoth or Pentecost!

Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-11:

Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenantthen you shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine....And all the people answered together, and said, All that YHWH has spoken we will do.

In Shemoth (Exodus) 19:10, they were told to sanctify themselves and let them wash their clothes.”

This is a picture of a pure bride dressed in white!

In Shemoth (Exodus) 19:11, they were told to be ready against the third day: for the third day YHWH will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

Our Messiah did the same thing as we read in Ephesians 4:8-9, that he first descended into the lowest parts of the earth. And then he “ascended up on high leading captivity captive and gave gifts unto men.....” When Yahuwshuwa returned on the third day, he appeared before his disciples in a new resurrected body!

What is the gift that he gave us?

Romiym (Romans) 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

The gift of the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit) is the down-payment of our redemption. It is just like receiving an engagement ring until the day that we are resurrected on the wedding day!

Just like Moses, when he ascended up to Mount Sinai to receive the commandments in stone, our Messiah also ascended to the Father so that he could wave the first fruits sheaf offering as our High Priest!

This promise to marry Yisrael again when Messiah returns was evidenced by the gift of the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit), and this “new language” accompanies this gift.

But was it really a brand new language? And was it really a brand new covenant? As we can see, just like the moon renews itself every month, YaHuWaH renewed the very same marriage covenant with the nation of Yisra’el when he offered up himself as a sacrifice through his son.

Our Messiah was “renewing” the wedding vows with his bride, Yisra’el by giving her a “brand new heart.” To go along with that renewed marriage covenant, he was also renewing the original language that the entire earth spoke before the Tower of Babel.

That language was the very same language that YaHuWaH himself spoke to Adam & Eve in the garden when he first created them. In the original Hebrew scriptures, we are shown that the first thing Elohiym created was the “Alef & Taw,” which is the first and last letters of the Hebrew Alphabet!

These letters for “Alef & Taw,” are unrepresented in our English Bibles. However, they are present in the Hebrew text thousands of times. This tells us that the language that he spoke to Adam & Eve obviously had to come from these Hebrew letters that he created:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 1:1 In the beginning Elohiym created את [Alef & Taw] the heaven and ואת [Waw, Alef & Taw] the earth.

The Restoration of the Heavenly Hebrew Language

The entire earth spoke one language before YaHuWaH confounded the languages, which resulted in the languages of the nations. This tells us that before the Tower of Babel, Adam & Eve spoke the same language that everyone else spoke. And that language had to have been Ancient Hebrew! Even though Hebrew is considered to be an earthly language, it originated with YaHuWaH, who is the author himself of this language, and he is a heavenly being! Therefore, the origin of the Hebrew language is a heavenly origin!

This means that the gift of speaking with other tongues has to be a “language decoder,” which enables us to speak to YaHuWaH in his own Hebrew language!

However, it does not sound like Hebrew when it is first spoken. As the Ruwach (Spirit) gives the interpretation, it finally reaches the ears of YaHuWaH at the throne, and he hears it in the purest form of Hebrew!

How do we know this?

1st Corinthians 14:2 For he that speaks in an unknown tongue [heteros glossa] speaks not unto men, but unto Elohiym: for no man understands him; howbeit in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

*Note: the only way to understand tongues is through the Spirit interpreting it (decoding it) to you.

1st Corinthians 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaks in an unknown tongue [heteros glossa] pray that he may interpret.

Strangers to this Present World

Do you see what happened? YaHuWaH allowed the gift of speaking with other tongues to sound strange or foreign because he wants us to see that we are indeed “strangers and foreigners to this present world!”

1st Keefa (Peter) 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;

Ibriym (Hebrews) 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Now we can understand why the Apostle Shauwl (Paul) used the term “tongues of angels,” in 1st Corinthians 13:1. In Hebrews 13:2, he calls these malakiym (angels) “strangers,” because they are not of this world! Angels are strangers to this world and the gift of tongues sound like strange tongues!

YaHuWaH wants us to not be too conformed to this present world. He equates friendship of the world as being his enemy, for he calls them adulterers and adulteresses who are friends of the world:

Ya’aqob (James) 4:4 You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohiymwhosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohiym.

He wants us to be reminded that we are strangers to this corrupt world!

This explains why he spoke to the prophet Isaiah about this “strange act” that he would perform for the House of Ephrayim. The Ten Northern Tribes of Yisra’el were divorced in Jeremiah 3:8 for their adultery with false gods. In order to make a distinction between his world (which is heaven) and the fallen world that we live in, he allowed his works to appear “strange” and peculiar to those whose hearts are uncircumcised.

YaHuWaH Will Perform His Strange Work for Ephrayim

This would explain why YaHuWaH would give us a strange, heavenly language, which is actually his original Hebrew language. However, it is hidden from those whose hearts are still hardened, because they are unable to hear his voice. Only those who have “ears to hear” (and are not carnally minded) will be able to comprehend the things of the Spirit.

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:21 For YHWH shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

Why Would He Do Such a Strange Thing?

In Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28, this is a prophecy about how YaHuWaH would use “strange works” to bring Ephrayim back to himself.

The Hebrew word for “strange” in Isaiah 28:21 (zuwr) means “to be a foreigner, to commit adultery.”

In the same verse, he says that he will perform his “strange act” (nokriy) which also means “foreign or adulterous!”

What?????

YaHuWaH will perform his “foreign and adulterous acts?”

What we are seeing in this prophecy in Isaiah 28 is that YaHuWaH will cause the House of Ephrayim to see how they have behaved as strange adulterers. He does this by imitating them and mocking them!

Picture for a moment a bratty little toddler who throws a temper tantrum in order to manipulate his parents into allowing him to have what he wants.

The parent refuses to give in to this form of manipulation. The parent mimics the child throwing a temper tantrum just to show the child how foolish he is behaving. This tactic is designed to sober up the child as he will more than likely begin to laugh hysterically as he watches his parent behave like a child.

This is what YaHuWaH was doing to the House of Ephrayim in Isaiah 28 as he describes his “strange work.” Paul described this strange work as the language of angels because it is not of this world. Angels are also referred to as “strangers” whom some people have entertained unawares.

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Ibriym (Hebrews) 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The 28th chapter of Isaiah begins by YaHuWaH telling these lost sheep of Ephrayim that they have been “turned aside” because of “strong drink” and they have “erred through wine.”

Ephrayim’s punishment ended after the Assyrian Captivity, around 458-444 B.C.E. However, these lost sheep were still largely in exile, and YaHuWaH was about to perform his “strange act” to bring them back. In the 2nd Chapter of Acts, we see this strange phenomenon of “speaking with other tongues” and it resembles those who are “drunk with new wine!”

This is why the disciples were falsely accused of being “drunk with wine,” but they were not drunk with the “wine of fornication” of Mystery Babylon! They were instead, filled with the “wine of the covenant” that was served by our Messiah at the Wedding of Cana!
I am of the opinion that the wine served by our Messiah at the Wedding of Cana in John 2:1, was non-alcoholic and it contained no “leaven.”

Leaven is a metaphor for sin, and it is leaven which makes wine ferment and turn to alcohol. Our Messiah’s blood was sinless, hence the wine he used to represent his sinless blood had no leaven in it. For more understanding about this, see my other blog entitled: “The Wine of Wrath & Fornication or the Wine of the Everlasting Covenant?”

The wine of the covenant is the gift of the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit)!

This “strange work” that YaHuWaH does to the House of Ephrayim involves HIM speaking to them with “stammering lips.”

These words in Hebrew for “stammering lips” (la’eg saphah) have the following meaning:

#3934 la`eg law-ayg’ from 3932; a buffoon; also a foreigner:--mockerstammering.

#3932 la`ag law-ag’ a primitive root; to deride; by implication (as if imitating a foreigner) to speak unintelligibly:--have in derision, laugh (to scorn), mock (on), stammering.

The Apostle Sha’uwl quoted Isaiah 28:11 in 1st Corinthians 14:21 when he said the following:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:21 In the Towrah (law) it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, says YHWH.

YaHuWaH would use foreigners, and gentiles to get the attention of Yisra’el, to cause them to become jealous. Romans 11:11 speaks of this phenomenon of YaHuWaH using these “wild branches,” those previously thought of as “strangers and adulterers” to provoke Yisra’el to jealousy!

Eyes to See & Ears to Hear

The ability to hear the voice of YaHuWaH and to see him comes from a renewed heart. He prophesied through Ezekiel that he would “remove the stony heart, and give us a heart of flesh” (Ezekiel 11:19; 36:26).

The only way that Yah could write his Towrah (laws) in our hearts and minds as part of his Renewed Covenant, is to perform heart surgery. Nevertheless, for those who refuse to see and hear, their hearts will remain hardened. They will see with their physical eyes, yet not perceive with their hearts. They will hear with their physical ears and not be able to understand:

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Yeshayahuw (Isaiah), which said, By hearing you shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing you shall see, and shall not perceive:

Marqos (Mark) 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

Tearing Down Only to Rebuild

This principle of tearing down and afflicting us, so that he can humble us to rebuild us, is how YaHuWaH often does his strange work:

Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 31:28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, says YHWH.

YaHuWaH had to first tear down Yisra’el and punish them before he could renew and restore them. He had to first confound the languages at the Tower of Babel in order to weaken us as a people. After he humbles us, he will again restore us back to a pure language. This heavenly language also “renews” us when we “pray in the Spirit” as it builds up our most qadowsh (holy) faith:

Yahuwdah (Jude) 1:20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most qadowsh (holy) faithpraying in the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit).

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:4 He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the congregation.

*Note: the word “unknown” in the King James Version is in italics, therefore the word “unknown” was added into the text for clarity. The definition for the phrase “unknown tongues” is one single word in Greek. As you can see, it is a language that cannot be acquired from learning. Some translations say “unlearned tongues,” because that is precisely what the word “glossa” means. Take special note of the words “unaquired and obsolete” to describe glossa:

#1100. glossa gloce-sah’ of uncertain affinity; the tongue; by implication, a language especially, one naturally unacquired:--tongue; the language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations; From Greek glossarion, diminutive of glossa “obsolete or foreign word.”

Compare that to the Greek word “dialectos” which simply means “languages.”

#1258. dialektos dee-al’-ek-tos from 1256; a (mode of) discourse, i.e. “dialect”:--language, tongue.

Our Messiah referred to it as “kainos glossa” (new unlearned tongues) in Mark 16:17. Yahuwshuwa’s blood brings about “newness of life” and renewal to our soul. This kainos (new) language is a gift that Yahuwshuwa gave us to renew and refresh our spirit each and every time we pray in the Holy Spirit with this heavenly language!

Elohiym makes a distinction between the “tongues of men” and “the tongues of angels.” One is earthly and one is heavenly:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

The fact that the word “unknown” is in italics in the KJV, does not change the fact that Yah is telling us that this is an “unknown” tongue. It is unknown to mankind. He even explains that speaking in an unknown tongue is an intimate language unto Elohiym---not unto men! He says “for no man understands him.” If a man could understand him it would be an earthly language:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:2 For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto Elohiym: for no man understands him; howbeit in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

Since the Apostles were being accused of being drunk, this tells us that they were speaking in a strange tongue not known to mankind. If it was an earthly language, nobody would have thought they were drunk.

Hannah Accused of Drunkeness

Where else do we find in scripture that someone was falsely accused of being drunk while under the influence of the Ruwach of YaHuWaH or the Holy Spirit?

1st Shemu’el (Samuel) 1:13 Now Hannah, she spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

You will notice that Hannah spoke from her heart, and because her voice was not heard by Eli, he assumed she was drunk. In the same way, the men present in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) at Shabuwoth (Pentecost) could see that the disciples were speaking in some kind of tongue, but because it did not sound like a language known to mankind, some of them assumed that the disciples were drunk:

Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

The Hebrew word for “stammering lips” means “to mock a foreigner!” Are you beginning to see the connection yet? This tells us that the Apostles were speaking with stammering lips---in other words heavenly tongues that sound like “gibberish!”

However, it only sounds like gibberish until the Ruwach (Spirit) opens up the ears to hear it in one’s own language!

At this point Keefa (Peter) declared just like Hannah, “…we are not drunk as you suppose.” Notice that both Hannah & Peter objected to their being drunk:

Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:15 For these are not drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

1st Shemu’el (Samuel) 1:15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before YHWH.

Nevertheless, to those men who had “ears to hear” what the Spirit/Ruwach of YaHuWaH was saying, he opened their ears and they were able to “hear” the mysteries being spoken in their own language:

Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

What we see here with Hannah is a prophetic picture of the body of Messiah crying out in travail for a son. What kind of son did she give birth to? A son named SAMUEL or SHEMUEL which means “Heard of Elohiym” in Hebrew.

In other words, on the day of Pentecost, the 70 disciples travailed in prayer until they gave birth to a CORPORATE SAMUEL THE PROPHET!

A GENERATION OF MEN THAT WOULD HEAR THE VOICE OF YAH DIRECTLY!

Do you see the pattern? The priest named Eli thought Hannah was drunk. The men from other nations who were present at Shabuwoth (Pentecost) thought the disciples were drunk. But in both scenarios, Hannah and the disciples were about to give birth to something. That SOMETHING was the ability to HEAR----a corporate SAMUEL/ SHEMUEL!

This is how we know that the miracle at Shabuwoth (Pentecost) was a miracle of HEARING the secret mysteries of the kingdom, the HIDDEN MANNA:

Chazown (Revelation) 2:17 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Ruwach (Spirit) says unto the congregations; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.

This is evidenced by a spiritual language in which the Holy Spirit speaks “mysteries” through us as he reveals hidden things.

You see there are two different purposes for the gift of tongues:

1.) A prophetic message initially given in an unknown tongue with the interpretation in a known language.
2.) An intimate prayer language to Elohiym.

Whenever I go into prayer, I pray in my unknown tongues first, because my flesh does not know how to pray. The gift of speaking in other tongues is like a well pump, which is always there, but it must be pumped in order to bring up the water.

My prayer language in tongues “brings up the fountain of living water.”

Yahuwchanon (John) 4:14 But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Yahuwchanon (John) 7:38 He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

As I pray with my “unknown tongues” the Holy Spirit prays through me and shows me how to pray. He then shows me the interpretation of what I just prayed so that I can pray with my understanding and get into agreement with the Holy Spirit:

Romiym (Romans) 8:26-27 Likewise the Ruwach (Spirit) also helps our infirmities (weaknesses): for we know not what we should pray for as we oughtbut the Ruwach (Spirit) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Ruwach (Spirit), because he makes intercession for the qadowshiym (saints) according to the will of Elohiym.

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:14-15 For if I pray in an unknown tonguemy spirit praysbut my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the Ruwach (Spirit), and I will pray with the understanding.

Sha’uwl (Paul) is explaining that we first pray with the Spirit in an unknown tongue, so that the “mind of the Spirit” may be revealed to us, how to pray according to Elohiym’s will. Then once we receive the mind of the Spirit, we pray with our understanding.

The other purpose for speaking in tongues is to give a prophecy in an unknown tongue so that if an unbeliever is present in the congregation, then the interpretation may be given in a language that is understandable to the listener. Or the interpretation may be given in the common language of the people who are present.

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serves not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

If Elohiym wants to give a word of prophecy to the body of Mashiyach (Messiah), Sha’uwl (Paul) is saying that it is not necessary to first deliver the message in unknown tongues. The prophecy given to the congregation may be delivered in the common language understandable to all in the midst. Sha’uwl (Paul) also gives guidelines so that things do not become disorderly. He tells those who give a prophecy in tongues out loud in the congregation to pray that they may receive the interpretation in the common language so all will be edified:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

I have given a prophecy in tongues in the past and then another person in the congregation would interpret it in English. Sometimes if nobody had the interpretation, then I would interpret it myself, as I prayed for the gift of interpretation. On other occasions someone else had a message in tongues and I gave the interpretation.

Sha’uwl also gave other guidelines to help keep things in order:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:23 If therefore the whole congregation become together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that you are mad?

Sha’uwl is saying, that if everyone speaks in tongues simultaneously without there being an interpreter, then visitors will think the people are crazy.

He goes on to say that it is better if someone gives a prophecy in the common language so that all can understand, than to have everyone simultaneously speaking in tongues without any interpretation. If an unbeliever comes in and hears a prophecy in the common language, he is convinced because Elohiym reveals the secrets of his heart to him, and he will then repent:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believes not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship Elohiym, and report that Elohiym is in you of a truth.

Here is one example of how the Holy Spirit coming upon a person is often manifested by someone “falling down” in the presence of YaHuWaH.

Sha’uwl (Paul) goes on to tell us that we should all speak in turn, and let one interpret:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tonguelet it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

Paul tells us to give prophecy one by one:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:31-33 For you may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For Elohiym is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all of the congregations of the qadowshiym (saints).

The gift of eternal life evidenced by the gift of the Holy Spirit is available to everyone who will repent and follow Yahuwshuwa and his Towrah. He has shed his blood to make his Renewed Covenant available to everyone who asks:

Luqas (Luke) 11:

10 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit) to them that ask him?

There is a difference between the infilling of the Holy Spirit and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. When we are “born again of incorruptible seed,” (1st Peter 1:23; John 3:3-7), we receive the “indwelling or the infilling” of the Holy Spirit. On the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost), the disciples also received the “outpouring” of the Holy Spirit (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:17-18).

What is the difference? The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the “first fruits of our redemption” (Romans 8:23). But when we receive the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (as prophesied in Joel 2:28-29), we are given power to do signs and wonders and to preach the good news of Messiah to the nations.

The power that was given to the disciples of Yahuwshuwa is categorized by nine gifts that are to be used for the purpose of building the Kingdom of Elohiym:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 12:4-11 “… Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Ruwach (Spirit)But the manifestation of the Ruwach (Spirit) is given to every man to profit withal…For to one is given by the Ruwach (Spirit) the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Ruwach (Spirit)…To another faith by the same Ruwach (Spirit); to another the gifts of healing by the same Ruwach (Spirit); To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these works that one and the selfsame Ruwach (Spirit), dividing to every man severally as he will…”

As Yahuwshuwa went up into heaven, (Acts 1:11) the last thing he promised to the disciples was this gift of the Holy Spirit in order that they would have “power” to be witnesses unto him:

Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 1:8 But you shall receive power, after that the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit) is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses unto me both in Yerushalayim, and in all Yahuwdah (Judea), and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Even though Yahuwshuwa offered the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower us to be witnesses unto him, these gifts will no longer be needed once the New Heaven & the New Earth come down (Revelation 21:1). The prophecies of Isaiah 28 & Joel 2:28-29 will not pass away until after the 1,000-year reign of Messiah:

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Chazown (Revelation) 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Once the New Yerushalayim comes down out of Heaven at the end of the 7th Millennium since creation, then we will have the completion of the restoration of all things” (Acts 3:21).

The Gifts of the Spirit Done Away With?

There have been those within the body of Messiah who have suggested that the “gifts of the Spirit” (particularly the gift of tongues) were “done away with” after the Briyth Chadashah (New Testament) went into print. The proponents of this doctrine use 1st Corinthians 13:8-10 to support this notion, citing that when the gospels went into print “that which is perfect” had come. Hence, the reason why “they say” that the gifts of the Ruwach (Spirit) were no longer necessary after the Apostles died:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 13:8-10 “…but whether there be propheciesthey shall failwhether there be tonguesthey shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away…For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”

The first question that we must ask ourselves when reading these verses, is this: “Has prophecy failed?” If our Messiah already told us in Matthew 5:17-19 that “law and prophets” have not passed away until heaven and earth passes away, we have to conclude that there are more prophecies  that are yet to be fulfilled.

Context is the “key” to understanding 1st Corinthians 13:8-10, for if we continue reading, it will help us understand what Paul meant when he said “when that which is perfect is come.”

In verse 11, Paul speaks about growing up into maturity, and “putting away childish things.”

This is the “perfection” that he is speaking of, because the Greek word for “perfect” gives us a clue:

#5046. teleios tel’-i-os from 5056; complete (in various applications of labor, growth, mental and moral character, etc.); neuter (as noun, with 3588) completeness:--of full age, man, perfect.

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 13:

11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

What was this cryptic message that Paul was writing about?

Who was the first person in scripture to testify that they had seen Elohiym “face-to-face?”

It was Jacob who wrestled with Elohiym all night long, and he was forever changed!

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 32:30 “....I have seen Elohiym face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Ya’aqob (Jacob) represents unregenerate Yisra’el when they are walking in the flesh with uncircumcised hearts. But after Jacob was converted, YaHuWaH changed his name to “Yisra’el,” which means “one who prevails or overcomes with Elohiym.”

The maturing process that happened to Jacob when he saw Elohiym “face-to-face” is the “perfection” that Paul was referring to, because the Greek word for “perfect” (teleios) has to do with “maturity of one’s moral character.”

Yisra’el was “blinded in part,” (Romans 11:10-25), which means that when we are not yet mature in our faith, we “see through a glass darkly.”

Jacob did come into that place of full maturity, when he saw Elohiym face-to-face, and he became an over-comer. Similarly, the body of Messiah has not yet reached full maturity until she becomes the New Jerusalem adorned as a bride for her husband (Revelation 21:1-2).

When the bride of Messiah reaches full maturity, she will abide in faith, hope and love, and this is that perfection which has not come yet!

When Will Perfection Come?

After the 1,000-year reign of Messiah, the new heaven and earth will come down, and then perfection will come:

Chazown (Revelation) 21:

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I Yahuwchanon (John) saw the holy city, New Yerushalayim (Jerusalem), coming down from Elohiym out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of Elohiym is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and Elohiym himself shall be with them, and be their Elohiym.

4 And Elohiym shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more deathneither sorrownor cryingneither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Has there ever been a time in history since the fall of Adam & Eve when there has been no more death, sorrow, or crying?

Obviously, this is the “perfection” that that has not arrived yet!

Since none of the Towrah & Prophets will pass away until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:17-19), we must conclude that the gifts of the spirit cannot go away until then.

During the Messianic Kingdom, the entire population of the earth will be taught the Towrah (Isaiah 2:3; Micah 4:2). After this, the “New Heaven & New Earth” will come down, and “that which is perfect” will then have come!

Speaking with other tongues is meant to build up and edify the body of Messiah (1st Corinthians 14:5; Jude 1:20). However, our wise master builder, is not finished preparing his bride unto perfection yet. Therefore, the gifts of the spirit are still being used to build her up until completion and perfection.

Those who misapply 1st Corinthians 13:10 to discredit the gifts of the spirit as being “not for today” will not be able to stand the “test of fire” in these last days. It is because they reject the very thing that is meant to build up the bride to perfection:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 3:13-15: Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. If any man’s work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Elohiym is telling us that the works we do for his Kingdom will be tried by fire. This is the same fire of the Holy Spirit that fell on the disciples on Shabuwoth or the day of Pentecost! This means that our “works” done in the flesh will not be rewarded, no matter how righteous they may seem. Only the works we do under the anointing of the Holy Spirit will stand the test of fire!

Being born-again by the Holy Spirit involves two things as Yahuwshuwa illustrated to us in John 3:5. He said that a man must be born of “water” (signifying his death and burial) and then being born “of the spirit” (his resurrection).

Water baptism deals with death to the old nature because it is a baptism of repentance. Holy Spirit baptism deals with being immersed into his resurrection power which is actually “putting on Messiah.” Water baptism involves washing away “the old sinful man,” but Spirit baptism involves “putting on the new man” which is Messiah!

Qolasiym (Colossians) 3:

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

There is a difference between the “infilling” of the Holy Spirit and the “outpouring” of the Holy Spirit. The end-time believers in Messiah will not be able to stand up to the deceptions of the devil without the “outpouring” of the Holy Spirit.

We must be baptized in the water of repentance first before we can be baptized in the fire of the Holy Spirit. His refining fire will purify and cleanse the true believers before we receive the latter rain outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Not only do we need individual “salvation” but we also need to be empowered by His Spirit so that we can be an effective witness for Yahuwshuwa Mashiyach, and in turn impart salvation on an international level!

Yahuwchanon (John) the Immerser (Baptist) spoke of two baptisms:

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. But he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Ruwach ha’Qodesh (Holy Spirit), and with fire.

While this verse in Ephesians 4:4-6, may seem to conflict because it says that there is only “one baptism,” what this verse is telling us is that there is only “one” YaHuWaH Elohiym who baptizes us in his spirit:

“….There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you are called in one hope of your calling; One YaHuWaHone faithone baptismOne Elohiym and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

In other words, the source is the same in both baptisms, which is YaHuWaH. We must be baptized in water, which signifies repentance and “death to the old man” (Romans 6:3-4)

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit & Fire represents sanctification and becoming set-apart for service. Yet both baptisms are “one” because we are baptized into Messiah. First we must be baptized into his death, symbolized by water immersion. And then we must be baptized into his resurrection power, symbolized by fire!

This parallels to what the prophet Eliyahuw (Elijah) did in 1st Kings 18 as he “watered” the sacrifice and then YaHuWaH Elohiym consumed the sacrifice with “fire.” It was then that Elohiym sent the “rain” after 3 ½ years of drought. Before we as a congregation can have the “latter rain” outpouring, we must be baptized first in the “water of repentance.” This is how our Messiah sanctifies his bride, by washing her with the “water of the word.”

Ephsiym (Ephesians) 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Yahuwchanon (John) 15:3 Now you are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Only when we are “sanctified” by the washing of water by the word will YaHuWaH Elohiym answer by fire and consume his bride, the body of Messiah! When the fire of the Holy Spirit falls on the earth in these last days, it will bring about purifying and revival to those whose hearts are repentant and who have been washed in the blood of Yahuwshuwa. However, for those who are not repentant or who haven’t been “washed,” the Holy Spirit will bring judgment and wrath which will burn unquenchably:

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 3:12 “…... and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Yahuwshuwa’s first miracle at the wedding of Cana, was a prophetic picture of the marriage supper of the Lamb:

Chazown (Revelation) 19:7-8 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of qadowshiym (saints).

Yahuwchanon (John) 2:1-7 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee…And both Yahuwshuwa was called, and his disciples, to the marriage… And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Yahuwdiy (Jews)…Yahuwshuwa said unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.”

In 1st Kings 18:33, Eliyahuw (Elijah) asked the men to “fill the barrels with water.” Before a miracle is done, vessels must be filled with water. A recurring theme in John 2:1-7 and in 1st Kings 18 is that Elohiym wants to baptize us with the water of repentance, and wash us with his word so that we can become a proper vessel for the “new wine” or “the everlasting covenant.”

At the wedding at Cana, Yahuwshuwa filled six water-pots which symbolizes “mankind” being filled with the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit). At creation, Elohiym formed man and woman on the 6th day, hence, the number six represents humanity. In scripture people are likened unto earthen vessels or stone water-pots:

2nd Qorintiym (Corinthians) 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of Elohiym, and not of us.

The six water-pots that Yahuwshuwa commanded to be filled with water is a prophetic picture of him filling us with the new wine of his covenant at the marriage supper of the lamb (Revelation 19:9).

When Yahuwshuwa turned this water into wine, he was showing us the everlasting covenant in his blood which is evidenced by the gift of the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit)!

He was showing us that first we must be filled with “living water” which is preceded by repentance and then he washes his bride by the washing of water by the word” (Ephesians 5:25).

The baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire is called the “first-fruits of our redemption” (Romans 8:23). This first-fruits gift of the Holy Spirit is like an engagement ring that seals the promise of our future wedding!

The bride will ultimately receive the redemption of her body as she will be changed into immortality. This will culminate at the marriage supper of the lamb where the bride will receive the “new wine” of everlasting life!

Yahuwshuwa himself illustrated this when he said we must be born of water and of the Spirit:

Yahuwchanon (John) 3:5 Yahuwshuwa answered, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of Elohiym.

Some Bible teachers believe that the “water” in this passage is speaking of the amniotic sack in a mother’s womb when a baby is born physically. They reason that we must first be born of water physically and then we must be born spiritually. I can see this application, but I also believe that the “water” in this passage is speaking of repentance symbolized by the baptism of John.

Being born of the “Spirit” is being baptized in the “fire” of the Holy Spirit which is what Yahuwshuwa’s baptism is all about. We must be born of “water” (repentance) and then the blood of Yahuwshuwa (the new wine) is offered to us so we can be baptized in the fire of the Holy Spirit! All three of these elements must be present in order to be a complete covenant: water, blood and spirit as 1st John 5:8 bears this out:

1st Yahuwchanon (John) 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earththe Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

When Yahuwshuwa died on the tree, one of the soldiers put a spear in his side and out of him came “blood and water” (John 19:34). As soon as Yahuwshuwa gave up “his spirit” and said “it is finished” the veil in the Temple which had separated mankind from the presence of Elohiym, was then torn in two granting all people who are washed in the blood of Yahuwshuwa access to the presence of YaHuWaH in the “Holy of Holies.”

All who will come by the blood of Yahuwshuwa Mashiyach and the “water” of repentance evidenced in water baptism are able to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Thus, there are three witnesses on earth that Elohiym uses to show us his covenant: spirit (fire), water, and blood.

We see this same pattern when Elohiym established his covenant with Mosheh and the children of Yisra’el through the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts (Exodus 12:7). Then, the opening of the Yam Cuwph/Red Sea (Exodus 14:21) symbolized the water of repentance (baptism into his death). The Egyptians represented slavery to sin, and sin was destroyed when they all drowned in the sea.

The pillar of fire by night and the cloud by day to guide them was symbolic of the spirit (Exodus 13:21-22). Thus, we can see the three witnesses (spirit, water, and blood) at the first Passover.

Mosheh was commanded to “speak to the rock” in Numbers 20:8 and water was to come from the rock, symbolic of Yahuwshuwa who is the “Rock” and also the “Word” (John 1:1).

Mosheh said in Numbers 20:10 “Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?” and he “struck the rock” in disobedience as a prophetic picture of the rebellious nation of Yisra’el. Later on in history they “struck” their Messiah as he hung on the tree and then “water” and blood gushed from his side (John 19:34). In spite of their rebellion, Yahuwshuwa still offered his covenant to the nation of Yisra’el.

At that final “Passover Supper,” Yahuwshuwa offered his body and blood for us as a the first installment of his “Renewed Covenant.” But fifty days later, on the day of Shabuwoth/Pentecost, Yahuwshuwa poured out his Ruwach (Spirit), and thus giving us a “sign” of his “Renewed Covenant” which was evidenced by “tongues of fire.”

This event was a foreshadowing of what he would do again in the future when the “new wine” will be served to us by Yahuwshuwa in his Kingdom. When we put on the new body, we will become a a “new vessel,” just like those six water-pots which were filled at the wedding of Cana.

Elohiym has made only two kinds of vessels. There are vessels of “wrath” fitted to destruction and there are “vessels” of mercy which he had before-hand prepared for his glory:

Romiym (Romans) 9:21-23 “Has not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if Elohiym, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:  And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory…”

In order to be a vessel that is filled with his spirit, we must first be “born-again” because he will not fill an old vessel with new wine.

This means that in order for us to understand spiritual things, we must DIE to the OLD CARNAL MAN!

Elohiym destroyed the CARNAL MAN in the person of Yahuwshuwa Messiah, thereby reversing the curse from Mount Sinai and giving us the ability to HEAR his voice!

At Pentecost/Shabuwoth, the Holy Spirit gave the interpretation of the unknown angelic tongues to the hearers. The interpretation came!

Seventy Disciples for Seventy Nations

After the disciples spoke with unknown tongues, Peter/Keefa preached a message that was indeed the INTERPRETATION of the MYSTERIES that were being spoken in the spirit by the 70 talmudiym (disciples) present (Luke 10:1-7).

In the Talmud in the Midrash, it says that YaHuWaH spoke to Yisra’el and they heard it in 70 different languages for the seventy base nations from the descendants of Noah found in the Towrah. Is this true?

I will not speculate as to whether this is true or not. However, there are patterns in scripture that seem to support this idea as we can see in Exodus 1:5 that out of Ya’aqob (Jacob) came 70 descendants from his own loins. Also, there were 70 disciples at Pentecost (Shabuwoth) to represent these 70 base nations of the earth, because in Luke 10:1-7, our Messiah appointed 70 disciples.

In Exodus 24:1 and Numbers 11:25 it states that there were 70 elders of Yisra’el. There are 70 bullocks offered on the Feast of Tabernacles for the 70 base nations from the descendants of Noah, hence the reason why we know that there were 70 disciples present on Shabuwoth (Pentecost). Also, in the Temple service there are 70 shekels presented for the redemption (bride price) of the 70 nations (Numbers 7:31-55). In Exodus 38:29, there are 70 talents of brass (representing the sins of the nations) offered before YaHuWaH by the priests.

It is therefore, entirely probable that there were 70 nations represented on the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost) in Acts 2, and there were possibly 70 languages being represented that day! Can you imagine thousands of people speaking in 70 different languages all at once? That would sound like a lot of chaos! Nobody would be able to decipher what was being said if they were speaking in earthly languages! Logic necessitates that the 70 disciples all spoke with heavenly tongues, and the Ruwach interpreted all 70 languages in the ears of each of these men who were present at the Temple!

Then came the interpretation in the form of Keefa’s (Peter’s) sermon and 3,000 were saved that day!

Some of you reading this may have difficulty understanding these concepts that I am presenting. However, trying to understand spiritual things with a carnal and unrenewed mind will not work:

1st
Qorintiym (Corinthians) 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Ruwach (Spirit) of Elohiym: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

It is important that we understand that the miracle that was done in Acts chapter 2 was not a miracle of “speaking,” in different languages, but a miracle of “hearing” in different languages!

This is exactly what the text of Acts 2:8 actually says:Maaseh Schlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:8 And how HEAR we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Did you notice that each man “HEARD” his own language?

Do you remember what happened at Mount Sinai, when Elohiym wanted to SPEAK the commandments to the children of Yisra’el, but they did not want to HEAR the voice of YaHuWaH for themselves (Exodus 20:19)? They were terrified of his voice, and so Elohiym had no choice but to give them the commandments in the
“LETTER” written with his own finger.

Elohiym wanted them to HEAR his voice so that they would be led by the Holy Spirit even at Mount Sinai, but they refused. Do you remember Korah’s rebellion in Exodus 32:28? How many died in that rebellion? 3,000 died!

What did Elohiym do at Shabuwoth (Pentecost) in Acts chapter 2? He once again gave us the ability to HEAR his voice, and to be led by his Spirit. The LETTER of the Towrah kills the old sinful nature, whereas, the Holy Spirit raises us up to new life! It is for this reason that the Apostle Paul declared that
“The letter kills, but the spirit gives life!” (2nd Corinthians 3:6).

In Korah’s rebellion, it was because they did not want to HEAR the voice of YaHuWaH, that they were under the “The letter of the law,” and thus, 3,000 died because of it!

The reversal of this curse would commence with the death of our Messiah on tree, thus giving way to
“The restoration of all things” (Acts 3:21). The Pentecost (Shabuwoth) in the second chapter of Acts was the event in history that would give us the Towrah (law) written in our hearts, and with it came the ability to HEAR his voice!

Each man HEARD his own language, as they were each receiving the interpretation of the tongues directly from the Holy Spirit in his own language!!!

As a result, Peter (Keefa) also received the interpretation and preached a message that led 3,000 men to salvation!

YaHuWaH reversed the curse of confusion from the Tower of Babel and he also reversed the curse of Yisra’elrebellion on that day in the second chapter of Acts!

Some of you might be saying to yourselves, “But I thought this was an unknown tongue that was being spoken....how then could people understand it in their own language if it was unknown?

Let me give a brief explanation of the word
UNKNOWN.” As I explained earlier, there is only one Greek word to describe the English phrase “unknown tongues.” The Greek word is “glossa,” which literally means an “unlearned language!” This is why the King James translators used the phrase “unknown tongues!”

Sha’uwl (Paul) explains to us that tongues is not speaking in earthly languages:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:2 For he that speaks in an unknown tongue [glossa] speaks not unto men, but unto Elohiym: for no man understands him; howbeit in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

Now, let’s take the word “unknown” out and see how it reads:

1st
Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:2 For he that speaks in a tongue speaks not unto men, but unto Elohiym: for no man understands him; howbeit in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

Okay, did you get what he said? He said that when a man speaks in tongues, he is NOT speaking unto men. He is not speaking in an EARTHLY language, because he says “FOR NO MAN UNDERSTANDS HIM.”

No man, means NO MAN ON EARTH!

If it were an earthly language, SOME MAN would be able to understand him. But the reason why NO MAN understands him is because it is a HEAVENLY LANGUAGE in which NO MAN understands!

In other words, no human being can understand these angelic tongues until the Ruwach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) opens their ears and gives them the interpretation!

This means it is a language that is not taught (acquired)! This is the very same word used when Sha’uwl (Paul) spoke of TONGUES OF ANGELS.

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (agape, love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Sha’uwl (Paul) is saying “though I speak with the GLOSSA of men and of ANGELS…”

GLOSSA OF ANGELS is the heavenly language accompanied by TONGUES OF FIRE!

Debariym (Deuteronomy) 4:24 For YHWH your Elohiym is a consuming fire, even a jealous Elohiym.

Ibriym (Hebrews) 12:29 For our Elohiym is a consuming fire.

If Elohiym is a CONSUMING FIRE, WOULD IT NOT STAND TO REASON THAT HE APPEARED TO THEM IN TONGUES OF FIRE?

Tongues of YaHuWaH’s consuming fire does not sound like an EARTHLY LANGUAGE!

When YaHuWaH answers by fire just as he did with Eliyahuw (Elijah) on Mount Carmel, the source is ALWAYS heavenly, not earthly!

On the Feast of Shabuwoth (Pentecost), in Acts chapter 2, YaHuWaH Elohiym restored what he had intended to do at Mount Sinai all along which was to give them the ability to HEAR his voice directly instead of through a human being, such as Moses.

Likewise, YaHuWaH gave the Apostles a heavenly language and then he gave the interpretation to all of the HEARERS present so that they could HEAR DIRECTLY from Elohiym, and NOT through a man or earthly languages.

Elohiym scattered the people from the Tower of Babel to the nations and he gave them confusing earthly languages. It does not make sense that he would repeat this again in the 2nd chapter of Acts.

YaHuWaH was renewing the Ancient Hebrew language which originated from heaven! He was giving us a RENEWED LANGUAGE for a RENEWED COVENANT!

What is this pure language that YaHuWaH is now restoring us back to? An end-time prophecy reveals to us that we are now being restored back to a pure language before the return of Messiah:

Tzphanyahuw (Zephaniah) 3:9 For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve him with one consent.

This “pure language” is Ancient Paleo Hebrew! And the purpose of restoring us back to this pure language is so that we will call upon the true name of our Creator, YaHuWaH!

Since the day of Shabuwoth/Pentecost, YaHuWaH has been in the process of “restoring all things” back to the way that they were before the fall of Adam & Chawwah (Eve) in the Garden of Eden. At creation, YaHuWaH Elohiym created the purest form of the Hebrew language. The prophet Zephaniah was given a word from YaHuWaH about restoring the people of the earth back to a pure language.

The name “Zephaniah in Hebrew is Tzphanyahuw, as it is defined in the Strong’s Concordance:

#6846 Tsphanyah tsef-an-yaw’ or Tsphanyahuw {tsef-an-yaw’-hoo}; from 6845 and 3050; Yah has secreted; Tsephanjah, the name of four Israelites:--Zephaniah.

The name Tsphanyahuw means “YaHuWaH has secreted!”

This means that YaHuWaH’s name has remained “hidden” from us until now!

This name also comes from the following root words:

#6845 tsaphan tsaw-fan’ a primitive root; to hide (by covering over); by implication, to hoard or reserve; figuratively to deny; specifically (favorably) to protect, (unfavorably) to lurk:--esteem, hide, lay up, lurk (be set) privily, keep secret.

#6828 tsaphown tsaw-fone’ or tsaphon {tsaw-fone’}; from 6845; properly, hidden, i.e. dark; used only of the north as a quarter (gloomy and unknown):--northern, side, -ward, wind.

#6840 tsaphiyn tsaw-feen’ from 6845; a treasure (as hidden):--hid.

The Creator’s Hidden Name Revealed & Restored

Do you remember Yahuwceph (Joseph) back in Egypt? Well Joseph was a “prophetic type” of our Messiah Yahuwshuwa. He was given a “hidden name” for a season by the Pharaoh.

What was that name?

The Hebrew name for Joseph is actually YaHuWceph because his name has the first three letters of our Heavenly Father’s name in it:

#3084 Yhowceph yeh-ho-safe’ a fuller form of 3130; Jehoseph (i.e. Joseph), a son of Jacob:--Joseph.

The name of Yahuwceph/Joseph means “YaHuWaH has added.”

The name of Joseph was purposely truncated by the scribes as they attempted to “hide” the name of YaHuWaH. This shortened form is seen throughout the scriptures, but the fuller form “Yahuwceph” is seen in only one place----Psalm 81:5 in the Hebrew text.

#3130 Yowceph yo-safe’ future of 3254; let him add (or perhaps simply active participle adding); Joseph, the name of seven Israelites:--Joseph. Compare 3084.

The Hebrew name of Joseph was “hidden” for a time as he was given a heathen Egyptian name:

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 41:45 And Pharaoh called Yahuwceph’s (Joseph’s) name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Yahuwceph (Joseph) went out over all the land of Mitzrayim (Egypt).

#6847 Tsophnath Pa`neach tsof-nath’ pah-nay’-akh of Egyptian derivation; Tsophnath-Paneach, Joseph’s Egyptian name:--Zaphnath-paaneah.

In the Blue Letter Bible, it says the following about the Egyptian name given to Joseph:

Zaphnath-paaneah: “salvation of the ages” or “treasury of the glorious rest.”

The Egyptian meaning of this name means “Salvation of the Ages” but in Hebrew it means “Revealer of a Secret!”

Aha! Now we see that at Messiah’s first coming as “Messiah Ben Joseph” he had a “hidden name” among the Gentiles which is “Jesus.” But now, as he is getting ready to return for his elect of Yisra’el, he is now revealing himself as “Messiah Ben David” who has a name that no man knew but he himself (Revelation 19:12). And so this means that he is now revealing his “secret name,” YaHuWShuWA to his servants the prophets:

Chazown (Revelation) 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Often-times I hear people using this verse out of context supposing that they have found proof that nobody knows the true name of our Messiah. However, only four verses later, in Revelation 19:16, we discover that the name that is “written” on his thigh is KING OF KINGS & MASTER OF MASTERS!

This means that nobody knows him in his future office of king & master yet. But to those who truly want to know his name, he reveals his secrets to his prophets before he acts on his plans:

Amowc (Amos) 3:7 Surely YHWH Elohiym will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets.

The true sons of Yisra’el are now being shown his “hidden name just as Joseph revealed himself to his eleven brothers when they came to buy grain in Egypt. They did not recognize him at first because he had a “hidden name,” Zaphnath-paaneah. When Joseph told them his real name, their eyes were opened to him. The sons of Yisra’el were restored back to Joseph and there was reconciliation!

Bereshiyth (Genesis) 45:3 And Yahuwceph (Joseph) said unto his brethren, I am Yahuwceph (Joseph); does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence.

Joseph is a prophetic picture of the Messiah, as he is now revealing his true Hebrew name to the sons of Yisra’el.

Queen Esther is another example of someone who “typifies” our Messiah. She went “incognito” in the Persian Palace in order to save her people. She took on the name “Esther” which comes from the name of a pagan fertility goddess from Babylon (Easter). But later on it was revealed that she was from the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) of the Tribe of Benjamin, and her real name is “Haddasah.” Esther’s name also means “hidden!”

Are we beginning to see a pattern yet? These thematic words seem to be connected to the gift of speaking with “unknown tongues,”
unknown, hidden, treasure, secret, mystery, revealed, restored

The reason for YaHuWaH giving us a “renewed tongue” was for the purpose of restoring us back to his pure “Edenic” language, and thus revealing his hidden name to us!

Refusal to Hear His Voice Leads to Death

The children of Yisrael were terrified of hearing the voice of YaHuWaH for themselves. They thought that they would die it they continued to hear his voice. They would rather hear from a human being like Moses, than the creator himself:

Shemoth (Exodus) 20:19 And they said unto Mosheh (Moses), Speak you with us, and we will hear: but let not Elohiym speak with us, lest we die.

Debariym (Deuteronomy) 5:25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of YHWH Elohiym any more, then we shall die.

Debariym (Deuteronomy) 18:16 According to all that you desire of YHWH your Elohiym in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of YHWH my Elohiym, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.

In Exodus 32, the Levites were commanded by Moses to slay all the people of Yisra’el in the camp who were not on the side of YaHuWaH:

Shemoth (Exodus) 32:28 And the children of Lewiy (Levi) did according to the word of Mosheh (Moses): and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

3,000 men died because they refused to HEAR!

The Curse Reversed

In Acts 2:14, Keefa (Peter) preached a message that was the interpretation of the tongues being spoken that day in the Temple.

Elohiym had caused each man who was there to “HEAR,” the interpretation of what was being spoken in heavenly tongues. Thus we can see that YaHuWaH was reversing the curse of Yisra’el’s unwillingness to hear his voice:

Ma’aseh Shlichiym (Acts of the Apostles) 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

3,000 men were saved that day because they did HEAR!

The Gift of Tongues in the Tanakh (Old Testament)

Some people would argue that there is no reference to speaking with other tongues in the Tanakh (Old Testament), and so they try to discredit the gift entirely rendering it as something that was only for the 1st Century Apostles. Others try to say that the “gift of tongues” is speaking in earthly languages and there is no basis in the Tanakh for speaking in “gibberish.” In order to understand what this mysterious language is all about, we must go back to the book of Isaiah.

In the 5th chapter of Isaiah, the prophet was given a rebuke for the nation of Yisra’el and the inhabitants of Judah & Jerusalem. The entire nation were given over to “strong drink” and drunkenness with wine which had perverted their judgment of the Towrah (Isaiah 5:21-22). In the next chapter, Isaiah was struck with the fact that he himself was a man of “unclean lips” and that he dwelled in the midst of a people with unclean lips:

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, YHWH of hosts.

The prophet Isaiah was speaking about the fact that the languages of the nations have been distorted, confused and perverted. Let’s take a look at the Hebrew words for “unclean lips.”

In the Hebrew Strong’s Concordance, the word for “unclean” is as follows:

#2931: tame’ unclean, impure, ethically and religiously; ritually; of placesdefiledpolluted.

Also, the word “lips” refers to “languages” in the Hebrew Strong’s Concordance:

#8193: saphah: lip, languagespeechseashore, bank, brink, brim, side, edge, border, binding.

Isaiah had a vision of YaHuWaH sitting upon his throne, and it totally wrecked him. Upon beholding this Holy Creator, he realized that his speech was unfit to even communicate with him effectively. But one of the seraphims took a “live coal” from the brazen altar and cleansed his lips so that he could deliver the pure word of YaHuWaH to the people of Yisra’el:

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 6:

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away, and your sin purged.

*Note: The live coal from the brazen altar was being used to purged Isaiah’s unclean lips and this was a metaphor of the “tongues of fire” seen in Acts 2:3 which rested upon the disciples!

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 6:

8 Also I heard the voice of YHWH, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear you indeed, but understand not; and see you indeed, but perceive not.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

What does YaHuWaH mean here? He is speaking in “hidden” mysterious language. He is showing us that in order to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom of Elohiym, we must become “deaf and blind” to the understanding of this present world so that we can understand spiritual things! The natural-minded man does not understand spiritual things but a man who is “dead” to this present world, can be made alive to the things of the spirit!

Now we understand that the term “unclean lips” means that Isaiah was one who spoke in a Gentile language. Isaiah was in the midst of a people who were being influenced by the surrounding nations of Assyria & Babylon. This is why he declared that he had unclean lips, and that he dwelled among a people of unclean lips.

It makes absolutely no sense for YaHuWaH to have given his disciples the same “unclean lips” on the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost).

The Greek word for “other tongues” in Acts 2 is “heteros glossa” which literally means “another language or dialect used by a particular people distinct from that of other nations.”

However in Acts 4:6, the Greek word for “languages” is “dialektos” which means: “conversation, speech, discourse, language the tongue or language peculiar to any people.”

You see, “other tongues” means something different than that of the languages of the nations. But the word “languages” literally means “a language belonging to a particular nation.” The term “heteros glossa” and the term “dialektos” are not the same thing. Therefore, the other tongues received by the disciples was not the same thing as languages of the nations!

In Acts 2:4-6, the disciples were NOT speaking in earthly languages as many people falsely teach and believe. Why would YaHuWaH repeat the same thing that he did at the Tower of Babel, by giving them the same confusing earthly languages?

In Bereshiyth (Genesis) 11, we read that the whole earth spoke ONE LANGUAGE, until YaHuWaH deliberately confused the languages so that the people would not become unified under Nimrod’s evil empire.

Yet, on the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost) in Acts 2, YaHuWaH was UNSCRAMBLING the UNCLEAN LANGUAGES OF THE NATIONS by giving them THE TONGUES OF MALAKIYM (angels) as seen in 1st Corinthians 13:1.

In YeshaYahuw (Isaiah) 6:5, the prophet Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) said that he was a man of “UNCLEAN LIPS.” This term in Hebrew is “Tame Saphah” which means “languages of the nations.”

Now we understand that the term “unclean lips” means that Isaiah was one who spoke in a Gentile language, and so it makes absolutely no sense that YaHuWaH would have given his disciples the same “unclean lips” on the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost).

Isaiah was also given a prophecy about the scattered tribes of Yisra’el in the nations under the tribal leadership of Ephrayim. Ephrayim is like “The prodigal son” in Luke 15:23-32. The prodigal son was “afar off” and he had left his Father’s house and began to squander his inheritance (free gift of salvation) on lawlessness and immoral living.

The older son represents the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) who stayed at home in his Father’s house and continued to obey the commandments (Towrah), but he only did so externally. From his heart, the older brother was not any more righteous than the younger brother who had left home.

YaHuWaH is like that Father in Luke 15 who is anxiously awaiting the younger son’s return back home. Isaiah was shown that Ephrayim was that younger brother who was full of presumption and pride:

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephrayim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

2 Behold, YHWH has a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

*Note: This description of hail stones coming down to judge The Ten Northern Tribes of the House of Ephrayim aka the Gentiles is repeated again in the book of Revelation:

Chazown (Revelation) 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Chazown (Revelation) 11:19 And the temple of Elohiym was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Chazown (Revelation) 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed Elohiym because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

The Judgement of Ephrayim Continues

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephrayim, shall be trodden under feet:

4 And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looks upon it sees, while it is yet in his hand he eats it up.

5 In that day shall YHWH of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people.

*Note: The residue of the people of Ephrayim (Gentiles) are the “remnant” who are born-again, and they are once again going to be “grafted back into their own olive tree” (Romans 11:17-24). Yisra’el had been “cut out of the olive tree because of their unbelief and defiance to the Towrah and their unwillingness to receive Yahuwshuwa as their Messiah.

YaHuWaH, however promised to bring them back into their own olive tree in the last days. And how is he going to do this? His plan was to “write his laws upon the hearts and minds” of men as a sign of the “Renewed Covenant” (Jeremiah 31:31-33, Hebrews 8:8-10 & Hebrews 10:16). This is what was taking place on that day in the second chapter of Acts on Shabuwoth (Pentecost).

It is through the gift of speaking with “renewed tongues” that he would deposit into the hearts of his people the “Oral Towrah” which is what he spoke to Yisrael at Mount Sinai. Now, when I use the term “Oral Towrah,” I am not referring to the Jewish Talmud. I am referring to the ability to “HEAR,” the instructions of YaHuWaH personally!

However, since Yisrael refused to hear his voice, the commandments had to be given in stone tablets to show them that their hearts were made of stone:

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh:

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

YaHuWaH knew that hearing his voice is more intimate than having his instructions written in stone. Mankind tends to interpret the scriptures his own way, through his own faulty filters. This is why Messiah instructed us to be like sheep who “hear the voice of the shepherd” (Psalms 95:7, John 10:3, 16, 27).

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sits in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.

7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the waythe priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

The “wine” in this prophecy is both literal as well as an allusion to the false doctrines of IyzeBaal (Jezebel) seen in Revelation 2:20-23.

She is called a false prophetess by our Messiah because she teaches the servants of Yahuwshuwa to eat things sacrificed to idols and to commit fornication.

In Revelation 17, “Mystery Babylon the Great the Mother of Harlots” has made the inhabitants of the earth drunk with the “wine of her fornication.”

Our Messiah sealed his Renewed Covenant with a cup of wine the night before he died. Therefore, the devil tries to present his own counterfeit covenant accompanied by a false cup of wine.

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink you all of it;

Mattithyahuw (Matthew) 26:28 For this is my blood of the Renewed Covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Wine is symbolic of a covenant that is sealed between a bride and a bridegroom over a cup of wine. This is what the Passover Meal was all about. But IyzeBaal (Jezebel) has her own perverted “table of devils” whereby she has closely counterfeited the Passover Meal with a pig sacrifice to “Easter” (Ishtar).

1st Melakiym (Kings) 18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Yisra’el unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Ba’al four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the Asherah [groves] four hundred, which eat at IyzeBa’al’s (Jezebel’s) table.

Her wine of fornication is what the Apostle Sha’uwl (Paul) warned about in 1st Corinthians 10:21 when he said that we cannot mix the Table of YaHuWaH (Passover) with the Table of Jezebel (Easter).

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 10:

20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to Elohiym: and I would not that you should have fellowship with devils.

21 You cannot drink the cup of YHWH, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of YHWH’s table, and of the table of devils.

This is the “wine” that Isaiah is describing in this prophecy. I do believe he is referring to literal wine, however, this wine can also pertain to false doctrine:

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.

*Note: The tables being full of vomit is referring to a “dog” going back to its old false doctrines (vomit):

Mishley (Proverbs) 26:11 As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly.

2nd Keefa (Peter) 2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The reference to the “dog” is a metaphor of a Gentile. In Matthew 15:26, our Messiah healed the daughter of a Canaanite woman who had a demon. At first he resisted to perform this miracle for her as he said “It is not good to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.”

But her faith was demonstrated in her response, and that is what prompted Messiah to heal her daughter: “Master, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” In Revelation 22:15, the term “dogs” is a reference to all those who are “outside” of the covenant.

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

*Note: Those who are able to receive true and pure doctrine, are those who have been weaned from the “milk” of the word and are ready for the meat of the word (1st Corinthians 3:2; Hebrews 5:12).

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

*Note: The Hebrew word here for “stammering” is #3932 la’ag “to imitate a foreignerto speak unintelligiblyhave in derision, to laugh, to scorn, or mock.” It makes sense then why on the day of Shabuwoth (Pentecost), some of the men who were visiting Jerusalem from other nations were “mocking” the disciples and falsely accusing them of being “drunk with new wine.”

The metaphor here of “wine” once again is an allusion to false doctrine. Interestingly the priest Eli also falsely accused Hannah of being “drunk with wine” in 1st Samuel 1:15 as I mentioned previously. There seems to be a connection with being filled with the Holy Spirit versus drinking wine which are the complete opposites of each other. Even the Apostle Sha’uwl tells us that the antithesis for being filled with the Holy Spirit is to be “drunk with wine.”

Ephsiym (Ephesians) 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

The Hebrew word “la’ag” means “to speak unintelligibly” and this means that the gift of tongues is not an earthly language! It is meant to “mock” or imitate a foreigner, but it is NOT an earthly language!

The Dictionary definition for “gibberish”: gib·ber·ish:

1. meaningless or unintelligible talk or writing.
2. talk or writing containing many obscure, pretentious, or technical words.

Thus we can see that the word for “la’ag” in Hebrew (to speak unintelligibly) means the same thing as “to speak gibberish.”

In other words the gift of speaking with other tongues is supposed to sound like gibberish! Why?

Well, the answer to this question is about to be uncovered as we see the Apostle Paul repeating this prophecy from Isaiah 28:11:

1st Qorintiym (Corinthians) 14:21 In the Towrah (law) it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, says YHWH.

Notice the similarity here in Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith you may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

What other place in the Towrah or the TaNaKh is this verse mentioned that the Apostle Sha’uwl is referencing in 1st Corinthians 14:21? There is no place else other than here in Isaiah 28:11-12, that this verse is mentioned. This can only mean one thing---this prophecy about Ephrayim (the nations, the Ten Lost Tribes of Yisra’el) is telling us that YaHuWaH will use the speaking of unintelligible speech to bring Ephrayim back to the Towrah in the last days!

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

13 But the word of the YHWH was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

14 Wherefore hear the word of the YHWH, you scornful menthat rule this people which is in Yerushalayim (Jerusalem).

*Note: Who are the “scornful men” who rule over the people of Jerusalem? It is the Gentiles, the Romans who were ruling over the people of Jerusalem in the days of our Messiahs earthly ministry!

It is to these people of the nations who were once called “Yisra’el” but they left the covenant and they went to the nations and became known as “Gentiles” and they are the ones being addressed here in Isaiah 28:13-14.

This brings us to what I believe is a fulfillment of this prophecy in Isaiah 28:13. On the night when our Messiah was being arrested, the men who were sent to arrest him fell backwards onto the ground!

Yahuwchanon (John) 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I AM [he], they went backward, and fell to the ground.

What was happening here in this account when Messiah was being arrested the night before his crucifixion?

He revealed himself to the Gentiles (Romans) as “I AM.” The word “he” is in italics here in the King James Version indicating that the word was not originally there in the text! The Hebrew word for “I AM” in Exodus 3:14-15 where YaHuWaH revealed himself to Mosheh is “Hayah!”

#1961 hayahto be, become, come to pass, exist, to happen, fall out!

The Hebrew word “ha” means “the” and the Hebrew word Yah means “self-existent one.” Hence, the name ha’Yah means “the self-existent one.”

The very name HaYah means TO FALL OUT!!!

There are some people who have suggested that those who fall backwards under the power of the Holy Spirit are experiencing something demonic.

But now we can see that this is simply not true! The Gentiles are these scornful men who were ruling over Jerusalem (the Romans) and they were made to fall backwards when Yahuwshuwa was revealing himself as “HaYah” (the one who is and was and is to come).

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

15 Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheowl (Hell) are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

16 Therefore thus says YHWH Elohiym, Behold, I lay in Tziyown (Zion) for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.

*Note: What is Yah saying here? He is telling these Ephrayimites (returning Gentiles) that he will cause an “overflowing scourge” to pass through the nations to “purge” them of their lies and falsehoods. What exactly are these lies? These are the very same lies that the prophet Jeremiah spoke of in Yirmeyahuw (Jeremiah) 16:19:

O YHWH, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

These are the same lies that have been taught to the Christian Churches for many centuries. Christianity has taught the lie that says “The Mosaic Law has been nailed to the cross.” The Gentiles were taught lies about Messiah’s birth being on December 25th, and the lie about his false name “J’Zeus” (Jesus), when his real name is Yahuwshuwa (Joshua). The Gentiles will be purged of these lies by the “overflowing scourge” which is a Hebrew word “showt” which means “chastisement, judgment.”

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with Sheowl (Hell) shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it.

*Note: Here is a promise to Ephrayim (returning Gentiles) that their covenant with death shall be “disannulled” and this means that they will be redeemed after they have been chastised and judged by YaHuWaH!

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

19 From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

21 For YHWH shall rise up as in Mount Perazim, he shall be angry as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

*Note: What is this “strange act?” Two different Hebrew words are being used here to describe the word “strange.” The first word for “strange” work is the Hebrew word “zuwr:”

#2114 zuwr: to be strange, be a stranger; to become estranged; foreigner, an enemy; loathsome (of breath); strange womanprostitute, alienated.

The second Hebrew word pertaining to “strange act” is the word nokriy #5237 which means “foreign, alien, harlot.”

What is YaHuWaH doing? He is causing these nations to be humbled by first showing them that because of their lawlessness (departing from Towrah) that they have become like a prostitute (the Mother Harlot Church in Revelation 17). It is through their being humbled that he finally brings a “residue” (a remnant) into Towrah obedience through the Renewed Covenant in Messiah’s blood.

And how does he do this? He gave them a “strange speech” (the gift of speaking with new tongues) and he caused them to “fall backwards” in order to humble them, so that he could bring them back up to resurrection life!

Yah did the very same thing to the Apostle Shauwl (Paul) on the Road to Damascus when he caused him to fall down to the earth (Acts 9:4). He humbled him first before he brought him back up again.

Yeshayahuw (Isaiah) 28:

22 Now therefore be you not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from YHWH Elohiym of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

23 Give you ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

*Note: Do we see a familiar pattern here in the above verses? Who were the men from the nations mocking in Acts 2:13? What is he telling them not to mock? He is telling them not to mock the gift of speaking with “new tongues” (stammering lips)! And what did he want them to do? To “hear his voice” through the interpretation of the strange speech by the Holy Spirit! In other words, the speech would be “strange” (foreign, never heard before) but then he would cause them to hear the message in their own language as the Holy Spirit would cause each man to hear it in his own language!

Falling Down Under the Power of the Holy Spirit

While it is true that Satan has his counterfeit “gifts” in operation, there seems to be a growing trend of the proverbial “throwing out the baby with the bathwater.” Many people in the Hebrew Root’s Community want to attribute all manifestations of the Holy Spirit to a “Kundalini Spirit.”

However, my question to them is this: “If the gift of tongues and falling down under the unction of the Holy Spirit is always false, then why would Satan bother to counterfeit these gifts?

Satan has no use for counterfeiting gifts unless they originated with YaHuWaH Elohiym in the first place!

1st Melekiym (Kings) 8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the kabowd (glory) of YHWH had filled the house of YHWH.

2nd Dibre ha Yamiym (Chronicles) 5:14 So that the priests could not minister by reason of the cloud: for the kabowd (glory) of YHWH had filled the house of Elohiym.

In the above passages, the priests in the temple could not “stand” up because their legs gave out under the “glory” of YaHuWaH. What is the Hebrew word for “glory?”

#3519 Kabowd: weight, splendor, honour, dignity, riches.

It comes from a root word #3513 “kabad” which means “to be heavy, to make weighty.”

Hence the glory or kabowd of YaHuWaH means that these priests had the heavy weight of his presence fall upon them, and thus they fell out under the power of the Holy Spirit!

Certainly, Satan knows how to counterfeit the gifts of the Holy Spirit because he used to operate as the “covering cherub” at the throne of Elohiym:

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 28:

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus says YHWH Elohiym; You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 You have been in Eden the garden of Elohiym; every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of your tabrets and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created.

*Note: Who are the characters mentioned in the Garden of Eden? Only Adam, Eve, and the serpent! This is how we know that the “The King of Tyrus” is none other than the devil himself. The 10th chapter of Daniel shows us that for every demonic principality, there is an earthly prince on the ground carrying out his plans. Thus, the King of Tyrus was a demonically possessed man whose persona is also the serpent from the garden!

Yechezqel (Ezekiel) 28:

14 You are the anointed cherub that covers; and I have set you so: you were upon the holy mountain of Elohiym; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you.

16 By the multitude of your merchandise they have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned: therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of Elohiym: and I will destroy you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you.

18 You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold you.

There is a phenomenon in the scriptures called “strange fire.” Strange Fire is a counterfeit Holy Spirit that pretends to be the real Holy Spirit, but it is a counterfeit of Satan!

In the summer of 2007, I was shown in a prophetic dream that this counterfeit spirit can do all of the same things that the real Spirit of YaHuWaH can do, except for one difference:

The genuine Holy Spirit of YaHuWaH will always agree with Towrah!

The counterfeit will be in opposition to the Law of Mosheh (Towrah)!

In 2nd Thessalonians 2:7, we are told that the Anti-Messiah will promote The Mystery of Lawlessness!”

Please see my other article entitled: “The Double Portion Anointing versus a Counterfeit Holy Spirit.”

Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 10:

1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before YHWH, which he commanded them not.

And what caused them to offer Strange Fire? When we continue to read on, we discover that Nadab and Abihu had been drinking wine while serving in the temple:

Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 10:

9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:

10 And that you may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;

Under the Malkiy-Tzedeq (Melchizedek) priesthood, our bodies are the temple! Hence, a royal priesthood must remain sober in order to minister the true Holy Spirit!

Now there is an amazing yet mysterious fragmentary document found among the Dead Sea Scrolls (1st Qumran 29; 4th Qumran b376) which seems to give a detailed description of the manner in which the Uwriym and the Thummiym actually functioned.

To this day, only fragments survive, but these fragments speak of “tongues of fire” coming from the stones, and say “the Priest shall interpret.”

The Uwriym and the Thummiym were therefore anciently connected with the gift of tongues.

Shemoth (Exodus) 28:30 And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Uwriym and the Thummiym; and they shall be upon Aharown’s (Aaron’s) heart, when he goes in before YHWH: and Aharown (Aaron) shall bear the judgment of the children of Yisra’el upon his heart before YHWH continually.

#224 Uwriym oo-reem plural of #217 the oracular brilliancy of the figures in the high priest’s breastplate; lights.

This word “Uwriym” is the plural for “uwr” #217 which means “flame, fire, lights.”

# 2833 Choshen: “to contain sparkle” a pocket (as holding the Uwriym and Thummiym), or rich (as containing gems), used only of the gorget of the High Priest’s breastplate.

This word “Tummiym” in Hebrew means “perfections, an emblem of complete truth.” The word “oracles” means “a verbal utterance.” And to whom were these “oracles” given?

In Acts 7:37-38 we are told that these “lively oracles” were given to Mosheh by the angel who spoke with him at Mount Sinai and then handed down to the seventy elders (fathers) and then to us. In Romans 3:1-2 & in Genesis 49:10, we are told that the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) have been entrusted with these oracles. Hence when our hearts are circumcised, we are considered Yahuwdiym (Jews) according to Romans 2:28-29

By entering into blood covenant with Yahuwshuwa, we are grafted into the same tribe as him for he is the “Lion of the Tribe of Yahuwdah (Revelation 5:5) and we are sojourning with him according to Ezekiel 47:22. To those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit, we are now part of the House of Yahuwdah (Judah) and we are entrusted with these lively oracles through the gift of speaking with other tongues!

#8550 Thummiym: Tummiym toom-meem plural of #8537; perfections; one of the epithets of the objects of the High Priest’s breastplate as an emblem of the complete truth: Thummiym.

It is obvious that Satan (the serpent) used to be a “covering cherub” who acted as a High Priest in Heaven, and he had a choshen (breast plate) with the gem stones for the Twelve Tribes of Yisra’el. Because of his iniquity (lawlessness and rebellion) he was removed from his position, thus causing the role of High Priest to go to Adam.

Satan’s jealousy towards Adam, caused him to scheme so that he could find a way to trick Adam into forfeiting his role as priest. Of course, we know that Adam failed when he gave into the whiles of the devil.

However, our Messiah succeeded in overcoming these same temptations for us during his forty-day fast in the wilderness. Once he overcame (conquered) the devil, this gave way for the restoration of a “royal priesthood” (2nd Peter 2:9) from the sons of Adam.

Thus, this event in the second chapter of Acts was not merely about restoring us to a pure language through “tongues of fire.” It would be through the receiving of this gift that humanity would be brought back into the “light” through Messiah---the light that we lost after the fall of Adam & Eve in the garden.

This light would “illuminate” and make us “perfect” so that we would  finally be able to step into our role as “kings & priests” (Revelation 1:6; 5:10) at his return.
