Job 38:14 tells us that the earth “TURNS ABOUT,” indicated by the Hebrew word “haphak.” The same word (haphak) is used in the following passage:
Job 37:12 And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commands them upon the face of the world [tebel, globe] in the earth [erets].
The Hebrew word for “turn,” (haphak) in Job 38:14 & Job 37:12 literally means “To turn, to convert, to change, to turn about, to tumble.”
From this word, we understand that with each new day, we are given another chance to have our hearts converted, as we turn back to
“The light of the world,” who is our Messiah! (see John 8:12 & 9:12). The Hebrew word for “world,” in Job 37:12 is “tebel,” which literally means “The globe.”
The sun does not actually “SET,” nor does it “RISE!”
Luke 4:40 says “Now when the sun was setting.....”
The Greek word in this passage for “THE SUN WAS SETTING,” is “duno,” which means “TO SINK DOWN!”
We know that the sun does not actually SINK DOWN, but it appears that way to the observer! As a matter of fact, on a flat-earth model, the sun never disappears at all, because it is always circling “over-head,” above the earth! On a flat-earth, the sun and moon would always be visible, even from a distance.
To illustrate this, I will use the account where the “sun stood still,” on Joshua’s long day, which flat-earthers completely misunderstand:
Yahuwshuwa (Joshua) 10:13 And the sun stood still, [damam, to be silent] and the moon stayed [amad, to stand], until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Yasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
The definition for the Hebrew words “stood still,” is “damam,” which literally means “to be dumb, to be mute, to be silent.” This image illustrates how the earth’s magnetic field allows for the sun’s pull, (causing it to spin like a top). But it does not pull the earth all the way into it, which would cause the earth to burn up.
“Sound waves are fluctuations of density within materials. In classical physics, their energy can make matter move back and forth, but they were not thought to possess mass. The sound of a sonic boom may produce about the same magnitude of gravitational pull as a 10-milligram weight, a new study finds.
Oddly, the findings also suggest the pull is in the opposite direction of the gravitational pull generated by normal matter, meaning sound waves might fall up instead of down in Earth’s gravitational field. One might assume these findings are related to Einstein’s famous equation E=mc2, which revealed that anything with energy could be converted to an equivalent amount of mass and vice versa.
One consequence of this relationship according to Einstein’s theory of relativity is that matter traveling near the speed of light will get heavier. Engineer makes squishy robots because 'instabilities are fun’ -- and useful) However, these new findings suggest that even in regular conditions that ignore relativity, sound possesses gravitational mass.”

Deuteronomy 23:11 But it shall be, when evening comes on, he shall wash himself with water: and WHEN THE SUN IS DOWN, he shall come into the camp again.
We know that the sun does not “GO DOWN” in reality!
These are expressions that are used in Scripture to describe when the sun first disappears below the horizon (sundown).
As a matter of fact, the Paleo Hebrew Letter “quwph” pictures the “Sun on the horizon of the earth.”
It proves that the Ancient Hebrews knew the sun was much larger than the earth, (and very far away), thus causing only half of the sun to be seen on the horizon at SUNSET or SUNRISE until it disappears below the horizon!
This phenomenon is impossible on a flat-earth model, because the sun would always be above the earth, and therefore, it would never sink down below the horizon line of the earth.
It is also important to understand that Scripture often uses “POETIC LANGUAGE” or EUPHEMISMS to describe “How things appear from the vantage point of the beholder!”
The Hebrew letter “quwph” is a root word that is embedded into the word “tequwphah,” which means the following:
#8622 tquwphah tek-oo-faw' or tquphah {tek-oo-faw'}; from 5362; a revolution, i.e. (of the earth around the sun) course, (of time) lapse:--circuit, come about, end of the year.
Below is a list of all the passages of Scripture, where the sun is being described as “going down,” even though that is not actually the case. Once again, (as previously stated), the Scriptures describe this phenomenon from the vantage point of the observer.
To us humans that live on earth, the sun “appears,” to be going down below the horizon line of the earth. In reality, it is the earth’s rotation, that creates this illusion.
What is interesting, is that in almost every instance where the Hebrew Tanakh (Old Testament) describes the sun as “going down,” the word is “bow,” (#H935) in the Hebrew Concordance.
#935 bo' bo a primitive root; to go or come (in a wide variety of applications):--abide, apply, attain, be, befall, + besiege, bring (forth, in, into, to pass), call, carry, certainly, (cause, let, thing for) to come (against, in, out, upon, to pass), depart, doubtless again.
Since our Messiah is described in Malachi 4:2 as “The sun of righteousness,” it is prophetically fitting that he “cames” to earth the first time, just as the sun “arises,” in the morning.
However, when he ascended back to the Father in heaven, he disappeared from our sight, just as the sun “goes away,” in the evening, just before total darkness.
In the following passages of Scripture, when describing the sun going down, rising, or coming up, these English words are used, but in each case, the Hebrew uses only one word, which is “bo.” You will notice in the following passages, the English words used are as follows: “going down, went down, was set, goes down, is down.”
Genesis 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
Genesis 28:11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
Exodus 17:12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
Exodus 22:26 If you at all take your neighbour's raiment to pledge, you shall deliver it unto him by that the sun goes down:
Leviticus 22:7 And when the sun is down, he shall be clean, and shall afterward eat of the holy things; because it is his food.
Deuteronomy 11:30 Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goes down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh?
Deuteronomy 16:6 But at the place which YHWH your Elohiym shall choose to place his name in, there thou shall sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt.
Deuteronomy 23:11 But it shall be, when evening comes on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.
Deuteronomy 24:13 In any case you shall deliver him the pledge again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless you: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before YHWH your Elohiym.
Deuteronomy 24:15 At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and sets his heart upon it: lest he cry against you unto YHWH, and it be sin unto thee.
Joshua 1:4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
Joshua 8:29 And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until eventide: and as soon as the sun was down, Joshua commanded that they should take his carcase down from the tree, and cast it at the entering of the gate of the city, and raise thereon a great heap of stones, that remains unto this day.
Joshua 10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
Joshua 10:27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave’s mouth, which remain until this very day.
Judges 14:18 And the men of the city said unto him on the seventh day before the sun went down, What is sweeter than honey? And what is stronger than a lion? and he said unto them, If you had not plowed with my heifer, you had not found out my riddle.
Judges 19:14 And they passed on and went their way; and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.
Judges 20:43 Thus they inclosed the Benjamites round about, and chased them, and trode them down with ease over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
*Note: In the above passage, the word for “sunrising” is “mizrach,” which also comes from the root word “Zarach.” In Genesis 38, Tamar bore twins, and the one with the scarlet cord placed on his hand (to prove he was the firstborn), was named “Zarach!”
This is a prophetic picture of our Messiah, who was prophesied about in Malachi 4:2 “...The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in his wings.” The word “arise” in this passage is “Zarach!”
Our Messiah came to earth the first time in the fourth millennium, because the light of the sun was revealed on the fourth day of creation. In 2nd Peter 3:8, we are told that “...One day is as a thousand years with YaHuWaH.” It is fitting that our Messiah is a prophetic picture of the sun, because he is also called “The light of the world!” No wonder why the devil has tried to trick humanity into worshiping the sun, rather than the Creator himself, who represents the sun!
2nd Samuel 3:35 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do Elohiym to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
1st Kings 22:36 And there went a proclamation throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.
2nd Chronicles 18:34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
Psalm 50:1 The mighty EL, even YHWH, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun [mizrach] unto the going down [mabo] thereof.
Psalm 104:19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knows his going down [mabo].
Psalm 104:22 The sun arises, [zarach] they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun [mizrach] unto the going down [mabo] of the same YHWH’s name is to be praised.
Ecclesiastes 1:5 The sun also arises [zarach], and the sun goes down [bo], and hastes to his place where he arose.
Isaiah 38:8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down [yarad, descend] in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down [yarad, descend].
Isaiah 60:20 Your sun shall no more go down [bo]; neither shall your moon withdraw itself [asaph, to be removed]: for YHWH shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.
*Note: The Hebrew word for the phrase “withdraw itself,” is “asaph,” which means “to take away, or remove.” On a flat earth model, the moon never disappears, nor is it taken away, or removed.
Jeremiah 15:9 She that has borne seven languishes: she has given up the spirit; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she has been ashamed and confounded: and the residue of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, says YHWH.
Daniel 6:14 Then the king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, says YHWH Elohiym, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
Micah 3:6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that you shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that you shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
Malachi 1:11 For from the rising of the sun [mizrach] even unto the going down [mabo] of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, says YHWH of hosts.
Ephesians 4:26 Be you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down [epiduo], upon your wrath:
