https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/DPIMinistriesIn these last days, many are departing from the truth of the the Towrah & Prophets, and are turning to myths and fables, as we are commanded not to do:
2nd Timothy 4:
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Many within the Hebraic Community are consulting extra-biblical writings, such as the Roman Catholic Apocrypha, Enoch, and the Book of Jubilees. They are giving more credence to these extra-biblical writings over the Towrah & Prophets. In Luke 24:44, our Messiah told us what is considered “Scripture.”
Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Towrah (law) of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning me.
This is most disconcerting, since the Apocrypha Books were canonized by the Roman Catholic Church in the 1500’s, but were rejected by the Protestant Churches. There is a good reason why they are referred to as “Pseudepigraphal” (meaning a work of fiction). Some of these extra-biblical works (such as Maccabees) have historical value, but they are not considered inspired by the Ruwach ha’Qodesh, and should never trump the inspired word of YaHuWaH.
In particular, the Book of Jubilees & Enoch are being used to conflict with the Towrah & Prophets about when a biblical calendar date begins. In this study, I aim to show that our Creator, YaHuWaH performs his covenant promises in patterns. Not only has Yah established his covenants with Abraham, Isaac & Jacob “In the evening,” but he has also sealed these covenant promises “On the seventh day,” as we will soon discover.
To learn more, I highly recommend my blog: When Does a Biblical “Day” Begin?
The Abrahamic Covenant at Sundown
The Hebrew word “covenant,” is “briyth,” which means “A compact made by passing between two pieces of flesh.”
In keeping with this pattern, YaHuWaH established his “covenant,” with all of Creation, by “Dividing the light from the darkness.”
He also established this covenant “In the evening” (Genesis 1:14-15). To learn more about the Abrahamic Covenant, please see this other blog: Who Confirms the Covenant of Daniel’s 70th Week?
Bereshiyth (Genesis) 15:17 And it came to pass, that, when THE SUN WENT DOWN, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that PASSED BETWEEN THOSE PIECES.
The Creation Covenant From Evening to Evening
Between Genesis 1:5, through Genesis 1:31, we see all six days of creation being performed, and by the end of that day, it says “And there was evening, and there was morning day one.” Each of the six days of creation began with evening, and culminated with the completion of daylight. This continued, until we finally see YaHuWaH finishing his creative work at the end of the sixth day “In the evening!”
When YaHuWaH rested on the seventh day, this pattern established a precedent for the number “seven,” as a prophetic pattern for humanity, pointing us to “The everlasting covenant.” The Hebrew word for “seven,” (sheba) literally means “To take an oath, or swear seven times.” In keeping with this pattern, YaHuWaH established his “covenant,” with Abraham “In the evening!”
Some might wonder, why a biblical calendar “date,” lasts for 24 hours. Six times, the book of Revelation describes 24 elders who worship the Elohiym and the Lamb at the throne in heaven.
We also know that there are 12 Tribes of Yisra’el, and there are 12 hours of daylight within a 24-hour calendar date (John 11:9). But why are there 12 hours of night-time as well? The twelve hours of daylight represent those who have come into the light of Messiah.
However, there are those who are still in darkness, but they will eventually turn to the light. Therefore, the twelve hours of darkness are symbolic of those who are destined to join the twelve tribes, when they are converted as “The earth turns.”
See my other blog explaining how the earth turns back to the light of Messiah every 24 hours, thus converting repentant sinners back to himself: What is the Meaning of Job 38:14?
The graphic below illustrates the mechanism by which YaHuWaH converts the inhabitants of the earth on a daily basis, back to the light of Messiah.
Jacob’s Covenant Established at Sunset
Genesis 28:10 And Ya`aqob went out from Be`er Sheba, and went toward Haran.
Genesis 28:11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
Genesis 28:12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the malakiym (angels) of Elohiym ascending and descending on it.
The Hebrew word for ladder is as follows:
#5551 cullam sool-lawm' from 5549; a stair-case:--ladder. 8176 sha`ar shaw-ar' a primitive root; to split or open, i.e. (literally, but only as denominative from 8179) to act as gate-keeper (see 7778): (figuratively) to estimate:--think.
#5549 calal saw-lal' a primitive root; to mound up (especially a turnpike); figurative, to exalt; reflexively, to oppose (as by a dam):-- cast up, exalt (self), extol, make plain, raise up.
Genesis 28:13 And, behold, Yahuwah stood above it, and said, I am Yahuwah Elohiym of Abraham your father, and the Elohiym of Yitzchaq: the land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed;
Genesis 28:14 And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in you and in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
Genesis 28:15 And, behold, I am with you, and will guard you in all places whither you go, and will bring you again into this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done את that which I have spoken to you of.
Genesis 28:16 And Ya`aqob awoke out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Yahuwah is in this place; and I knew it not.
Genesis 28:17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of Elohiym, and this is the gate of heaven.
The Hebrew word for gate is defined in the Concordance:
#8176 sha`ar shaw-ar' a primitive root; to split or open, i.e. (literally, but only as denominative from 8179) to act as gate-keeper (see 7778): (figuratively) to estimate:--think.
#8179 sha`ar shah'-ar from 8176 in its original sense; an opening, i.e. door or gate:--city, door, gate, port.
Yisra’el Slaughtered the Passover Lamb on the Evening of the 14th & Ate it that Night
YaHuWaH commanded Yisra’el to slaughter a lamb “BETWEEN THE TWO EVENINGS” of the 14th & 15th of Abib.
More understanding is given in my other blog: Did Messiah Eat the Passover Before He Died?
Exodus 12:6 And you shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole multitude of the assembly of Yisra’el shall kill it in the evening.
Exodus 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.
Exodus 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and matstsah; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
The Firstborn Egyptians Smitten at Midnight on the 14th of Abib
Exodus 12:23 For YHWH will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, Yahuwah will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Exodus 12:29 And it came to pass, that at midnight YHWH smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle.
Following the death of his firstborn son, Pharaoh sent a message to Moses and Aaron in the night, shortly after all the firstborn of Egypt were slain; commanding Yisra’el to depart from Egypt (Exodus 12:31).
Yisra’el Left Egypt on the Night of the 15th of Abib
We see the same pattern when Yisra’el was delivered out of Egyptian bondage the following night on the 15th of Abib. This is confirmed in the book of Numbers:
Numbers 33:3 And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Yisra’el went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
Exodus 12:42-51 It is A NIGHT to be much observed unto YHWH for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that NIGHT of YHWH to be observed of all the children of Yisra’el in their generations. And it came to pass the selfsame day, that YHWH did bring the children of Yisra’el out of the land of Egypt by their armies.
Deuteronomy 16:1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto YHWH your Elohiym: for in the month of Abib YHWH your Elohiym brought you forth out of Egypt BY NIGHT.
Yisra’el Passed Through the Red Sea by Night on the 18th of Abib
Exodus 14:20 And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light BY NIGHT to these: so that the one came not near the other ALL THE NIGHT.
Exodus 14:21 And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and YHWH caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind ALL THAT NIGHT, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
Scripture tells us that Elohiym drove the waters back “all that night.”
Exodus 14:24 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch YHWH looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
Verse 24 says that by “By the morning watch” (the last portion of the night), the Egyptian armies are still trying to reach the Red Sea and attack Israel. But, by the “morning,” the sea had returned to its normal state and covered the Egyptian armies.
Messiah Slaughtered Between Two Evenings on the 14th of Abib & Between Two Thieves
Our Messiah also “CONFIRMED THE COVENANT,” (as prophesied in Daniel 9:27) by dying just before sundown, on Passover, the 14th day of Abib.
This took place “BETWEEN TWO THIEVES & BETWEEN TWO EVENINGS,” just as YaHuWaH passed “BETWEEN TWO ANIMAL PIECES” with Abraham's covenant!
Messiah Died on the Evening of the 4th Day of the Week & Resurrected on the Evening of the 7th Day of the Week
YaHuWaH created the sun on the 4th day of creation, so it is no small coincidence that our Messiah came to us in the 4th Millennium, as “The sun of righteousness” (Malachi 4:2).
Additionally, he died on the fourth day of the week (what we would today call Wednesday). The #4 is prophetically connected to our Messiah, for he came through the Tribe of Yahuwdah (Judah), and Judah was the fourth son of Leah & Jacob.
Additionally, our Messiah (as the son of righteousness) was prophesied to arise “With healing in his wings” when the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of his garment, aka the four fringes, or his Tziyt-tziyt.
Also, in keeping with the pattern of the “Red Heifer,” in Numbers 19, our Messiah cleansed his UNCLEAN people on the SEVENTH DAY by RESURRECTING BEFORE SUNDOWN on the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK---SHABBAT!
To learn more about how our Messiah fulfilled the pattern of the Red Heifer, see this other blog: The Red Heifer Ordinance Fulfilled in Messiah
It is for this very reason, that our Messiah declared himself to be “MASTER OF SHABBAT!”
So shall it be with the BRIDE OF MESSIAH, for she will be “RAISED UP AT THE SEVENTH DAY, SABBATH MILLENNIUM” (John 6:39-54). To learn more, see these other two blogs:
Messiah Will Take His Bride at Midnight
In the parable of the ten virgins, in Matthew 25:6, our Messiah tells us that he is coming for his bride in the middle of the night, while everyone is asleep!
In keeping with the same pattern as the firstborn Egyptians being slain at midnight, it is no accident that our Messiah plans to elope with his bride at midnight. Midnight is when everyone is asleep, and this is when the bridegroom came for his bride in Ancient Hebrew weddings. This is why in 1st Corinthians 15:51, Shaul (Paul) calls it “A mystery or a secret!”
Why does YaHuWaH establish all his covenants “In the evening?”
Because, before RESURRECTION comes DEATH.
Before HONOR, comes HUMILITY.
Before RESTORATION comes DESTRUCTION.
A Seed Germinates in Darkness
Our Messiah taught us a basic principle of life itself. Everything that lives must die first, in order to produce fruit:
John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
A Baby is Formed in Darkness in the Womb
As children of the “LIGHT” we are FORMED in DARKNESS IN THE WOMB, but we are BORN-AGAIN into the LIGHT of Mashiyach!
1st Thessalonians 5:5 You are all the CHILDREN OF LIGHT, and the CHILDREN OF THE DAY: we are NOT OF THE NIGHT, NOR OF DARKNESS. Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was SHAPEN [FORMED] IN INIQUITY [DARKNESS]; and IN SIN DID MY MOTHER CONCEIVE ME.
For the first nine months of our lives, we are being “FORMED” in darkness in the womb, after which, we are “BORN” into the light of this world!
Therefore, we must be “born-again” of incorruptible seed, by the Ruwach (Spirit)!
The earth was also “FORMED” in darkness, but “BORN” into the light, when YaHuWaH spoke light into existence! The same pattern is seen with a Caterpillar that is transformed in a dark cocoon, before being born-again as a butterfly!
Bereshiyth (Genesis) 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and DARKNESS was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohiym moved upon the face of the waters.
The same thing is true of a “New Calendar Date,” (Yom) which is FORMED IN DARKNESS at evening, but by the morning, the “Day” (Yom) is “born!”
For the first 12-hours of a “Calendar Date,” we are in DARKNESS, because there are 12 Tribes of Yisra’el, who were in SLAVERY/DARKNESS, until YaHuWaH delivered us, and brought us into FREEDOM/LIGHT!
For the second 12-hours of a “Calendar Date,” we are in DAYLIGHT, because the 12 Tribes of Yisra’el have now been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, and brought into the light!
Therefore, in Egypt, the Passover Lamb was slain “In the evening,” but by the morning, they were brought out of Egypt in freedom!
The Towrah establishes when a new calendar “date,” begins. This is not to be confused with the “twelve-hour,” period known as “daylight.”
The Hebrew word “yowm,” pertains to the 24-hour calendar date, as well as the 12-hour period we know as “daylight.”
We are shown in Genesis 1:5, that a new calendar date begins at “evening,” not in the morning.
Leviticus 23:27-32 corroborates this:
Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:27 Also on the TENTH DAY OF THIS SEVENTH MONTH, there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto YHWH.
Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 23:32 It shall be unto you a Shabbath of rest, and you shall afflict your souls: IN THE NINTH DAY OF THE MONTH AT EVENING, FROM EVENING UNTO EVENING, shall you celebrate your Shabbath.
What is being expressed in these two passages (above) is that on the 10th day of the 7th Hebrew month of Ethaniym (Tishri) begins Yom Kippur, aka the Day of Atonement.
However, in verse 32, it says that the 9th day at evening is when it begins.
Is this a contradiction, or a mistake?
No, it is not a mistake.
YaHuWaH is showing us that a new calendar date begins at sundown or evening! He is telling us in verse 32, that the 9th day becomes the 10th day at sundown!
The Towrah establishes that a new calendar date begins at sundown, not at sunrise.
Therefore, the women in Matthew 28:1 were going to the tomb at the “The end of the Sabbath,” (what we call Saturday evening), not on Sunday morning.
The new “calendar date,” was “dawning,” (beginning).
Consequently, the English Translators thought the word should be “dawn,” when in fact, the Hebrew word “nesheph,” (dusk) is the equivalent to the Greek “epiphosko.”
The Aramaic Peshitta confirms this usage of the word “dusk,” in Matthew 28:1.
